Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited (‘Hang Seng Indexes Company’) manages and compiles the Hang Seng Family of Indexes, which cover stocks listed in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Our index series includes the Hang Seng Index, the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index and the Hang Seng TECH Index, as well as Stock Connect, Greater Bay Area and sector-related indexes. As at the end of 2020, assets under management in products passively tracking indexes in the Hang Seng Family of Indexes had reached a total of about US$38 billion.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Assistant Data Manager.

 

Principal responsibilities

·  Assist in planning and implementing HSIL’s data strategy, covering Hong Kong, China and US equity data used for index business;
·  Responsible for index data preparation, including free-float adjustments, industry classifications, corporate actions, closed price, outstanding shares, etc.;
·  Provide data support for regular index review and ad-hoc requests;
·  Liaise with information vendors on data sourcing and resolving data issues
·  Design and prepare regular reports to support HSIL’s clients and meet business needs;
·  Act as a subject matter expert for HSIL’s data platform; participate in user acceptance test for data-related projects;
·  Execute proper data management procedures and perform the day-to-day functions to maintain the integrity of HSIL’s data platform
·  Execute and support data driven projects for facilitating automated processes in line with business needs

Requirements

·  University degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline;
·  Knowledge of equity market operations, including company corporate actions and financial reporting is preferred;
·  Knowledge of programming or scripting language such as SQL/ Python;
·  Experience in machine learning, NLP is a plus
·  Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills; detailed-oriented
·  Proficiency in both English and Chinese
·  Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
