Are you passionate about maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced kitchen environment? DoubleTree by Hilton Auckland Karaka is looking for a Kitchen Steward Team Leader to join our dynamic culinary team and take charge of stewarding operations.

A Stewarding Team Leader under the general guidance of the Executive Chef, oversees and supervises all aspects of stewarding operation during a shift in adherence to Hilton policies and procedures. This role ensures that the cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation of all kitchen areas, equipment and utensils are maintained in accordance with established quality standards. 

What will I be doing? 

As Stewarding Team Leader, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: 

· 
Possess a positive attitude, take responsibility and initiative to lead and supervise the stewarding team to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are consistently met.

· 
Responsible for training and guiding the Stewards in their jobs and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. 

· 
Oversee the cleaning and sanitizing of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.

· 
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and stewarding equipment. 

· 
Coordinate with chefs and kitchen team to support smooth kitchen operations.

· 
Responsible for the proper handling and maintenance of all equipment in the kitchen, storing and safekeeping all flatware, glassware, hollowware, utensils and related equipment. 

· 
Assign specific tasks among the stewarding team.

·  Monitor dishwashing operations and ensure timely turnaround of clean items.
· 
Maintain waste management and recycling procedures.

 

· 
Perform all duties and responsibilities safely for yourself and others in the workplace.   

· 
Assist Waiters, Bar Attendants and Kitchen team members where required. 

 

· 
Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

What are we looking for? 

A Stewarding Team Leader serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow: 

· 
Previous experience in a stewarding or kitchen support role with some supervisory responsibilities

· 
At least 1 year experience in a similar role

· 
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

· 
Excellent organisational and time management skills

· 
Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and public holidays 

· 
A proactive, hand-on approach and a positive attitude
