The iconic, The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel is currently seeking for a Sales/Events/Catering Coordinator to join our talented team!
Located on at 130 Roosevelt Way, just a short stroll from the vibrant French Quarter. This historic hotel features 504 elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites, along with over 60,000 square feet of versatile meeting and event space. JOB DESCRIPTION
What will I be doing?
Provides the director and managers of sales and marketing with administrative and clerical support including word- processing, typing, e-mailing, filing, data-entry, faxing, copying, corresponding, answering telephones, processing mail, taking notes and/or dictation, making travel arrangements and performing other general office duties. Assists on special projects as needed.
Position Summary
As a Team Member your essential functions in this role include such things as:
· To organize, plan and prioritize your duties by developing plans and goals.
· Timely communication to internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person.
· Handling phone calls, emails, and greening clients for Catering and Events in a professional, courteous manner.
· Inputting programs in booking systems, managing VIP guest arrangements, and coordinating site visits.
· Creating and communication of documents including but not limited to BEOs, group resumes, post event reports, menus, diagrams/floor plans.
· Working with affiliate groups.
· Assist with clients and deliver on the client's expectations.
· Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, booking systems, and processes.
· Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating the issues and determine the best solution for the client.
· Ensure high quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand the guest needs.
· Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.
· Other duties as necessary based on business needs

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
· One (1) year guest contact or customer experience
· Previous experience as an administrative assistant, preferred
· Previous hotel experience preferred, but not required

· Reading Comprehension- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

· Customer and Personal Service- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
· Number facility- The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.
