About the role
In your role as Finance Manager, you will oversee the functions of accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit and general ledger across three hotels within our portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will ensure all data is produced accurately and efficiently and produce financial reports as required. Specifically, your role will involve:
· Lead and mentor the team by providing expertise on accounting and system requirements, supporting the effective functioning of income audit, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger operations.
· Oversee and implement robust financial practices and procedures, ensuring strict compliance with Hilton policies, hotel standards, and local regulatory requirements.
· Manage month-end closing processes and financial reporting, including the review of journal entries, trial balances, general ledger, and profit and loss statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
· Ensure full compliance with SOX audit requirements and statutory obligations, including Business Activity Statement (BAS), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), and other tax reporting responsibilities.
· Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy, with timely reviews and approvals.
· Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues, and provide detailed reports and recommendations to the Director of Finance.
What are we looking for?
· A degree level qualification in Finance, Accounting or Commerce
· Previous experience in a Finance supervisory or management level position
· Strong technical knowledge in general ledger is essential. Experience in functional areas of accounts payable, receivable and audit is an added advantage
· Effective managerial skills and the ability to train and develop others
· Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail
· Strong problem-solving, negotiation and interpersonal skills
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Experience working in the Hotel or Hospitality Industry is an advantage
