Job description

This position focuses on supervising the accounting team and ensuring the proper execution of financial processes, guaranteeing compliance with standards and regulations.

What will I do?

The Chief of Accounting will be responsible for overseeing and managing all accounting activities of the hotel, including the monthly accounting close, the review and presentation of financial reports, and the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the Uniform System of Accounts, and Hilton’s policies.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

·  Ensure the correct recording and control of the hotel’s accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
·  Supervise the monthly accounting close and coordinate the timely preparation of financial statements.
·  Control and analyze the hotel’s general accounting, ensuring account reconciliation and proper application of financial regulations.
·  Support the accounting team in daily operations, providing guidance and ensuring deadlines and procedures are met.
·  Ensure the preparation and presentation of financial reports, providing reliable information for decision-making.
·  Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring proper preparation and documentation.
·  Supervise and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
·  In the absence of the Director of Finance, assume responsibility for leading the department.

What are we looking for?

Experience in accounting and accounting closures, with the ability to analyze financial information and ensure the accuracy of records.

Strong problem-solving skills in accounting and finance, ensuring the application of policies and procedures.

Ability to supervise and develop an accounting team, assigning tasks and providing support in achieving objectives.

Attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in financial reports and reconciliations.

Ability to prepare and present financial reports clearly and effectively to management and owners.

Strong communication and negotiation skills with internal teams and external auditors.

Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to quickly learn new accounting systems.

Additional Preferences:
