Job Requirements

Position Summary

The Breakfast Attendant creates a warm, welcoming experience by preparing, stocking, and maintaining the complimentary breakfast according to Homewood Suites and Hilton CleanStay brand standards. This role ensures food safety compliance, keeps the breakfast area spotless and well organized, and delivers friendly, efficient guest service that drives satisfaction scores and repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

·  Guest Service & Hospitality
·  Greet every guest with a friendly, professional demeanor; offer assistance, answer questions, and anticipate needs.
·  Monitor the dining room; clear and reset tables quickly to maintain seating availability.
·  Respond to guest concerns promptly and escalate to leadership when needed.
·  Food Preparation & Presentation
·  Set up, stock, and refresh all breakfast items (hot and cold) per the daily par levels and brand standards.
·  Follow portioning guidelines and recipe cards; properly label, date, and rotate (FIFO) all food items.
·  Prepare simple items (e.g., oatmeal, eggs, breakfast meats, waffles, baked goods) using approved equipment and smallwares.
·  Cleanliness & Sanitation
·  Maintain an immaculate buffet line, dining area, prep space, and back-of-house at all times.
·  Practice strict hygiene standards; sanitize high-touch surfaces and equipment on required intervals.
·  Complete and log all temperature checks (hot/cold holding) and cleaning checklists per shift.
·  Safety & Compliance
·  Adhere to ServSafe , local health department codes, and Hilton CleanStay protocols.
·  Use PPE when necessary; report hazards, equipment issues, or injuries immediately.
·  Ensure chemical usage and storage follow manufacturer and OSHA guidelines (SDS available on site).
·  Inventory & Equipment
·  Track par levels; communicate low stock or out-of-stock items to leadership for ordering.
·  Operate, clean, and maintain breakfast equipment (ovens, warmers, waffle irons, dish machine, etc.).
·  Receive deliveries; verify quantities/quality and rotate product.
·  Teamwork & Communication
·  Coordinate with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Maintenance to support peak periods and special requests.
·  Attend briefings/trainings; contribute ideas to improve guest satisfaction and efficiency.

Qualifications

·  Previous hotel, restaurant, or customer-service experience preferred; hotel breakfast experience a plus.
·  Food handler/ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
·  Strong communication skills; able to interact with diverse guests and teammates in a positive, professional way.
·  Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
·  Basic math and record-keeping skills for temperature logs and inventory counts.

Work Experience

Physical Requirements

·  Stand/walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
·  Lift, push, or pull up to 35–50 lbs occasionally (e.g., cases, equipment, supplies).
·  Frequent bending, reaching, and carrying while stocking and clearing tables.
·  Work around heat, cold, moisture, and typical kitchen/buffet equipment.

Performance Metrics

·  Guest satisfaction/Medallia scores for breakfast experience.
·  Compliance with food safety logs and brand standards (QA/inspections).
·  Buffet presentation, product availability, and cleanliness scores.
·  Attendance, punctuality, teamwork, and adherence to SOPs.
