Role Summary/Purpose

The Wind Performance Sub-Systems Intern is part of the GE Renewables Systems Engineering and will be part of the team and will work on improving the design of the WTG internal efficiency model.
During this program she/he will work on verification and adapting physics based efficiency models to be used in wind turbine simulation environment.
The candidate may also be engaged in different tasks and assignments depending on timelines and resource needs within the performance subsystem team.

Essential Responsibilities

• Preparation, design and verification of main component efficiency models. Generate and ensure proper program documentation, e.g. model specifications, verification testing.
• Work closely with the System Technical Leaders and global team members to ensure high quality and timely program execution.
• Work closely with Wind turbine component owners on delivering required information and integrating model data.
• Work with global and cross-functional teams

Desired profile

Qualifications/Requirements

• registered student with a focus on Engineering (electrical/mechanical)
• Good baseline technical knowledge or education with focus on mathematics and/or science
• Approval to work in Germany
• Available full-time for at least 3 months of internship
• Start date: flexible, in 2016/2017
• Fluent in English language
• Proficient in MATLAB & MS Office tools
• Preferable experienced in any WTG simulation software like e.g. BLADED, FLEX5 or any other
