Role Summary/Purpose

The VP&I Competitive Intelligence Specialist role is responsible for the execution of Competitive Intelligence programs from final RFP to data reporting and for tracking & reporting Competitive Intelligence activities across GEHC and developing/deploying/maintaining proper functional tools. This role is part of the global Competitive Intelligence Centre of Excellence, within the Value Proposition and Insights team, and has a primary focus on providing competitive intelligence for China.
Essential Responsibilities

Deliver foundational competitive intelligence

• Ownership of China specific regular competitive intelligence foundational programs including creation and delivery of competitor profiles, newsletters, ad-hoc news alerts, competitor earnings releases and coverage of relevant trade show and investor events (including attendance of relevant events). Regular monitoring of global and local competitors. Working with rest of CoE to leverage global processes & data and extract/deliver intelligence for China.
• Managing vendors and internal marketing, commercial & executive stakeholders and working with VP&I Business Partners where appropriate to ensure products are continuously fit for business purpose.
• Managing and leveraging internal database subscriptions to make sure relevant information is included in the foundation products
• Creating and sustaining a China focused vendor portfolio ensuring that GEHC has ready access to the required third-party skillsets in order to meet both tactical and strategic requirements

Deliver Key Intelligence Topic (KIT) research programs

• Regularly engaging with key stakeholders and VP&I Business Partner in China to identify key competitive intelligence requirements. Aligning with CoE Manager and team to shape impactful programs
• Managing the prioritized KIT competitive intelligence programs for business as defined by key marketing stakeholders and the VP&I Manager & Business Partner. This includes scoping/designing programs, conducting in-depth secondary research, engaging with field and service teams to leverage internal knowledge, recommending appropriate vendors to fill intelligence gaps, managing vendors and executing on program through to analysis and data reporting.
• Regularly engaging with regional commercial and service teams to assist in execution of key intelligence topic research
• Delivering research and analysis on key policy & market developments as required
• Tracking & reporting competitive intelligence specialist service activities – including any communication needed
• Managing vendors aligned to research programs– ensuring vendors on systems, contracts/MSAs in place, vendor compliance training requirements
• Managing the internal and vendor evaluation process to collect feedback on CI programs
• Developing, deploying and maintaining functional tools – identified as business needs in conjunction with VP&I Manager & Business Partners
• Ensuring compliance is maintained within all competitive intelligence processes in collaboration with Legal/Compliance, enabled by the full understanding & dissemination of compliance guidelines
Qualifications/Requirements

Quality Specific Goals:
1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or equivalent
2. 2+ years’ experience in competitive intelligence or related field
3. Demonstrated experience with key competitive intelligence collection and analysis methodologies
4. Excellent oral and written communications skills (English and Chinese)
5. Strong project management and process skills

Preferred Qualifications:
1. MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing or equivalent
2. Healthcare industry experience or relevant science degree
3. Proven record of accomplishment of establishing and managing project plans, adjusting to changing circumstances. Prioritizes and effectively controls key milestones.
4. Successful experience working in team environment
5. Ability to function in a matrix environment.
