Role Summary/Purpose

There are multiple opportunities within GE aviation Wales for a Mechanical Tradesperson. These opportunities exist within the engine product lines, materials function and the component repair function of the business. There is a possibly that the available roles will require shift working. GE Aviation Wales operates several shift patterns, the shifts could be across days/afternoons/weekends/nights.
Essential Responsibilities

As a Tradesperson you will have the technical responsibility for the engine or its constituent parts and processes maintenance data relating to such parts. This will include but is not limited to: 

·  Overhaul, repair, modification, inspection, replacement, or defect rectification of an engine/module/accessory/component/unit. 
·  Restore used parts, component/assembly/engine/module/accessory/unit by inspection, and/or replacement in conformity with an approved standard to extend the operational life. 
·  Restore a component/engine/module to a serviceable condition in conformity with an approved standard and to ensure that cost effective operation is achieved. 
The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

·  Ensuring section adherence to 5S standards. 
·  Taking a proactive approach to meeting section targets 
·  Taking ownership for and follows through on full scope of work tasks and projects within remit. 
·  Working in a manufacturing environment and approaching work with a "can-do" attitude and a sense of commitment to both team and customer objectives

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Completed a formal engineering apprenticeship 
·  Previous experience of mechanical engineering in the aerospace industry (documented evidence of this must be submitted at the point of application e.g – Log Book/ Certifications) 
·  Relevant Gas Turbine Engine overhaul experience

·  Previous Experience using OEM Shop Manuals 
·  Previous experience in the aerospace industry 
·  Previous working knowledge of SAP 
·  Understanding of Lean processes and tools would be advantageous 
·  Must have a strong attention to detail 
·  Experience of working in a line maintenance Environment 
·  Experience of working within large diverse teams 
·  Candidates must be flexible 
·  Ability to communicate across all levels.
