Job Description Summary

As a contributing member of the LCA team, perform thermal hydraulic safety analyses for BWR plants, including currently operating BWR plants as well as new plants (ABWR and BWRX) operating or planned worldwide.

Essential Responsibilities :
As a Thermal Hydraulics Engineer– LOCA and Containment, you will:  

· 
Perform technical evaluations and analyses in the area of Emergency Core Cooling System Loss of Coolant Accidents, containment response and impact, hydrodynamic and pressurization loads, fuel performance, with general expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques

· 
Ensure work is in compliance with NRC regulated policies and procedures, as well as Quality Assurance standards.

· 
Participate in Company initiatives, including process improvement and New Product Introduction opportunities

· 
Participate in team process improvement/ automation initiatives

· 
Perform in cross-disciplinary settings, engaged with interfacing teams responsible for mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design or other affiliated organizations to find optimum customer solutions

Qualifications/Requirements :

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline (nuclear, chemical or similar) from an accredited college or university       

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Hybrid Role: This role requires onsite work 3 days/week at GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC. Relocation assistance provided
·  This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Desired Characteristics :

· 
Experience in thermal hydraulic modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems

· 
Progress toward completion of Engineering Master’s degree

· 
Edison Engineering Program

· 
M.S. in engineering discipline from an accredited college or university with experience in thermal hydraulic modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems

· 
Experience with BWRs

· 
Experience with 10 CFR 50.46 regulations

· 
Experience with best estimate and CSAU applications

· 
Experience with T/H systems codes such as TRACG, TRACE, RELAP, or RETRAN

· 
Experience with programming (C#, FORTRAN, PYTHON)

· 
Decisiveness and the ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on the best available information

·

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $69,600.00 and $120,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
