Role Summary/Purpose
The Power Electronics Test Engineer will be responsible for Wind circuit card and power converter circuit card design, manufacturing instructions, and test for new product development testing support, tester development, sourcing support and continuous manufacturing quality improvement for wind turbine products.
Essential Responsibilities
As the Power Electronics Test Engineer, you will:
• Develop Wind circuit card manufacture functional tester (TOFFEE) fixture and test software
• Develop Wind power converter cabinet manufacture functional tester and test software
• Work with sourcing team and contract manufacture to optimize design for manufacturing, fix manufacturing issue during design phase
• Transition design to manufacturing production
• Lead and execute design reviews for tester designs demonstrating adherence to design practices and new product introduction processes
• Design documentation generation both for design and manufacturing and sustaining
• Continuously improve design reliability by leading or execute failure analysis on current products, fix test gap between circuit card tester and cabinet tester
• Grow repair center’s test capability and execute redesign accordingly to known issues
• Perform testing on prototype circuit cards and assist in field trials as necessary
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or Associates Degree with minimum of 5 years direct experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronics circuit card and control cabinet manufacture functional tester development, including tester fixture and test software development
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with various agency certifications, codes, and standards
Desired Characteristics
• Experienced in circuit cards test and failure analysis
• Experienced in software development using C language, labview
• Experienced in testing GE Mark VIe IO modules and software development using GE Toolbox
• Familiar with GE Cimplicity and HMI development
• Familiarity with simulation tools (Matlab / Simulink, Cadence / Pspice, ICAP, Multisim, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to document, plan, execute product development
• Good English communication is must. Analytical and presentation skills in English
• High awareness of safety (EHS)
• Team player behavior, open minded and energetic personality
• Good problem solving and decision making ability
• Willingness to work in a dynamic, performance-oriented environment
