ATMRO Engineering team are a diverse global team focused on engineering processes throughout the assembly and test operations at our development, production, and repair sites. In this role as a Digital Architect, you will be responsible for maintaining a large legacy code base while developing new engineering solutions for our shops. This job requires a high level of operational judgement, professional autonomy, and intrinsic motivation.
Job Description
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
· Strong proven software skills in a variety of languages. With an emphasis on the following in order of relevance. Python (including Flask), VB6, Rust, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
· Capability to define and control assembly and test processes by maintaining and creating digital tools that aid in the assembly and test of our products. Validate design specifications and shop floor applications of new product, tools, or equipment
· Collaborate across multiple facilities to develop specialized processes and operations, to deliver engineering solutions
· Maintain awareness of industry standards and norms related to coding and cybersecurity best practices while serving as a focal point for disparate teams
· Contributes towards strategy and policy development to ensures safety, quality, delivery, and cost effectiveness of our products
· Safety critical (“Class-A”) software development
· Identification and classification of the safety criticality of systems
· Uses technical experience and expertise to contribute to data analysis and improve existing legacy solutions while contributing to the development of new ones
· Assist leading projects with impact at multiple shops
· Influence technical topics related to engineering software in our assembly shops
· Aid team members in collaboration with equipment manufacturers, process, quality, technical, and manufacturing personnel
· Some domestic and international travel required
Desired
· Database SQL experience, (MySQL, SQLite)
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
· Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
· Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
· Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
· Established project management skills
· Experience and understanding of jet engine rotors balance, stack and grind methodologies
· Shop environment experience (specifically jet engine assembly/test)
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
· Minimum 3 years of professional experience in software architecture.
· Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience
