What Impact You’ll Make
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) – Hot Gas Path, Rotors & Airfoils is responsible for :
- driving quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation
- collaborating with Engineering and Sourcing to select and approve suppliers through approval and qualification processes
- owning supplier assessments, part/process qualification supplier results
- driving improvements utilizing supplier scorecards.
- owning ongoing supplier audits, and supplier monitoring ensuring compliance, and driving improvement plans where needed.
In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
. The role will work in full alignment and close collaboration with internal stakeholders including sourcing, engineering, manufacturing and project management to enable project execution excellence. The scope of activities includes supplier product qualification, audit, surveillance, quality issue resolution and root cause investigation.
Job Description
What You’ll Do:
- Be the primary interface between critical suppliers & engineering requirements
- Manage supplier quality, supplier performance, including formal Supplier Quality Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) as appropriate
- Perform Technical commodity assessment
- Own qualification- surveillance process
- Lead supplier quality reviews
- Be the technical support for sourcing/manufacturing
- Lead effort to reduce COQ and product DPMO
- Perform and lead Customer witness / inspection meetings at suppliers
- Lead Supplier RCAs on critical or recurrent SDRs (Supplier deviation requests), escapes to GE or customers
- Issue technical data to support Sourcing for Vendor Recovery
- Execute Surveillance audits as per agreed plan
- Monitor Process Capability and drive continuous improvement plans of suppliers' quality and delivery performance
- Monitor Supplier scorecards – Quality Section and ensure accuracy
- Be accountable for functional, business, and broad company Supplier Quality objectives
- Drive Supplier Quality initiatives to continually improve SQE team effectiveness
- Drive root cause identification for Cost of Failure and defect rate for suppliers in your scope
What You’ll Bring (Basic Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience
- Technical aptitude
- Communications & Teamwork Skills
- Project Management Skills
- Business / Commodity expertise
- Minimum of 2 - 5 Years Sourcing/Engineering/Manufacturing experience
- Minimum of 2 - 5 Years of Supplier Quality or equivalent experience
- English fluency
- Travel as needed, up to 50% of time to drive strategy, support problem solving at Suppliers

- Product line expertise of 5+ years with a technology/engineering background
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, teamwork, networking skills, collaboration & conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated project management skills to establish strategic goals and to prioritize, plan, delegate & evaluate deliverables
- Process improvement experience, knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies & in-depth understanding of related processes
- RCA leader certified
- Strong problem solving and negotiation skills with the ability to develop & implement complex influencing & negotiating strategies
- Ability to influence and enroll by making recommendations for appropriate action at all levels of the company
- Strong verbal, written, communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and write clearly & convincingly in English, tailoring communication methods to customer's requirements
- Ability to respond / react with appropriate urgency / professionalism & make decisions under pressure / stress
- Change agent with energy, passion & enthusiasm to drive change
- Strong business acumen; uses financial analysis to make important business decisions & understands key financial metrics

For purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $82,900 - $110,000 USD Annual.
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This Lead Professional Band position is also eligible for a variable incentive bonus of 10%.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
