The EHS and Facilities Leader will ensure the site continues to meet all EHS, Security, and Facilities requirements. As the EHS and Facilities Leader at GE Aerospace's Additive Technology Center in West Chester, Ohio, you will drive the development of Additive Technology for the business. You will be responsible for Site EHS and Facilities, directly lead a team, and be a key member of the site leadership team. You will participate in Value Stream level safety initiatives, work to resolve any issues when they arise, including Root Cause investigations and Corrective Actions.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Lead and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, procedures, practices, licenses, permits and site-specific EHS documentation, records and plans to assure compliance with all regulatory and business requirements and accident and injury prevention
· Lead a team of EHS and Facilities professionals to develop and integrate EHS programs, facility initiatives and security requirements in a manufacturing facility with ongoing growth and expansion
· Ownership of training, inspections, and customer interaction around planning and job execution
· Help develop and communicate EHS goals for the location/operation, and review, approve, and implement policies and procedures that impact EHS and Security
· Help define employee EHS training needs and select training tools
· Assist with the evaluation of the EHS and Security Framework Work Plan Elements on an annual basis and serve as an element owner where needed
· Comply with all regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA)
· Ensure facilities alignment with production plan and KPIs
· Oversight of execution of facilities projects to maintain alignment
· Deploy FLIGHT DECK fundamentals to drive differentiated results across the team
· Optimize facilities inventory and process improvements
· Maintain security responsibility for the site
· Create energy to deliver site goals through creation and comprehensive communication of practical "hands on" strategies
· Communicate difficult concepts with transparency and may influence others' opinions on specific topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view
· Consult on shop floor lean initiatives that may impact safety and security of employees
· Global and horizontal collaboration site leadership and Value Stream EHS team to manage site EHS and PSM compliance activities to drive a positive and proactive EHS and PSM culture
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of EHS, Manufacturing, and/or Operations Leadership experience)
· At least an additional 5 years of EHS, Manufacturing, Operations Leadership, or relevant working experience
Desired Characteristics:
· Prior Environmental, Health, and Safety experience
· At least 2 years supply chain experience
· Experience with metal powders and their risk (in relation to 3D printing)
· Experience working with combustible dusts
· Experience with Environmental, Exposure & Fire risks or Facilities Management
· Experience developing cross training plan for employees and ensuring adequate coverage across the different teams/groups
· Experience in leading customer meetings
