Job Description Summary
The Project Procurement Director is the key point-of-contact and sourcing liaison for customers and project partners. In this position, you will develop close partnerships and interact with customers, project partners as well as internal teams, including advanced nuclear commercial, project management, quality and engineering teams. Responsibilities include managing the allocation of resources and load boards, leading project governance and escalations for procurement scope, and project management oversight.
This position is based at our headquarters in Wilmington, NC. Must be willing to relocate (relocation assistance provided) if not already local.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
· Partner with project managers to optimize sourcing activities for key components in support of advanced nuclear plant projects and programs.
· Represent GEH procurement organization in the integrated project structure and lead procurement governance across the BWRX-300 sourcing teams
· Develop key performance indicators and action plans to enhance daily management and operational rigor.
· Work closely with customer to develop division of responsibility, roadmap for initial supply chain development activities and drive early execution phase.
· Act as escalation point on project change request and to resolve any disruptions in the purchasing, supply chain and delivery process.
· Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to facilitate project schedule and budget adherence.
· Develop and implement standard work and training programs to share learnings and sustain high performing team.
· Mitigate supply chain risks through the creation of risk management strategies and lessons learned (LL).
· Act as domain expert in commercial contract requirements for the project, including procurement flow downs and supplemental guidelines.
· Drive a culture of continuous improvement through Lean and further the business’s strategic imperatives. Utilize Lean problem-solving method to address safety, quality, delivery and cost issues.
· Integrate with broader GE Sourcing teams to drive maximum benefit
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree
· 10 years of professional or military experience
· 5 years of sourcing or supply chain management experience
· At least 1 year of experience managing people
Eligibility Requirements:
· This position is based at our headquarters in Wilmington, NC. Must be willing to relocate (relocation assistance provided) if not already local
· Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time as required
Desired Characteristics:
· Master’s degree in business or engineering
· Experience in commercial operations
· Strong leader capable of working successfully in matrix organization, as part of a cross-functional team to drive impactful results
· Sourcing experience in nuclear, or a highly technical or regulated industry
· New Product Introduction (NPI) project experience
· Demonstrated ability to establish a vision and direction for commercial Sourcing organization
· Proven experience managing commercial partnerships and/or customer facing experience.
· Strong interpersonal skills; inclusive leadership style; proven ability to build and motivate a strong team
· Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex situations and drive projects to completion, including cost and schedule control.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Experience leading in a Lean organization, with KPI/metrics to drive continuous improvement.
· CPM and/or APICS certification
· GE Program graduate, e.g., EEDP, OMLP (GE employees only).
The base pay range for this position is $125,000-175,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 5/16/2025.
