Role Summary/Purpose

The Lead Project Finance Controller has an overall responsibility for project financials post tender phase (reporting, controlling and coordinating); with major focus on transparency and accuracy of project margins and cash. Ensure project accounting is in accordance with Company guidelines; define milestones and liaise with accounting for revenue recognition. Organize project reviews from start to the end of each contract.
Essential Responsibilities

• Have full knowledge of financial movements pertaining to revenue, margin and cash and ensuring this information is consistent, approved and reconciled in the ERP system (consolidate, validate and forecast).
• Prepare project financial summaries (EAS, cash curve, trading and billing plans) for consolidated Project Review, with significant input from Project Manager.
• Consolidate project financials and understand each partner's financial movements.
• Support the PM/PD presenting the financial section during project reviews with the ability to correlate financial status and movements with progress on project.
• Build revenue recognition and billing milestone plans.
• Check, control, challenge and monitor movements in actuals and committed costs: identify and challenge overruns, support root cause analysis, strong interface with PM/PD and relevant teams.
• Ensure that Costs at Completion are aligned with project assumptions and contract with customer as well.
• Provide input on risks, opportunities, and claims valuation.
• Support ITO process with cost estimating to provide valid/accurate cost estimates for the proposed scope
• Review historical performance against proposed budgets to identify risk and opportunities and work with PM to achieve proper cost alignment
• Connect and coordinate with financial interfaces: Finance Partners, Controllership, FP&A, CAS, external auditors; Partner with GE Corporate Audit Staff and Finance Managers for internal GE compliance reviews. Drive closure of open audit issues and proactively work to prevent future issues / manage risk. Lead resulting corrective action process implementation and follow up throughout the organization.
• Understand the financial and commercial content of the contract and drive action to align the project budgets and forecasts accordingly.
• Work closely with financial and operational leadership to pro-actively assess and manage financial risk.
• Identify potential risks & opportunities & and communicate effectively.
• Interpret finance risks & opportunities to local circumstances, contract terms and conditions & present workable solutions.
Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field with at least 3 years of progressive accounting or finance OR high school diploma / GED and 5 years accounting or finance experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in U.S. GAAP and local GAAP
• Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral and ethical values in decisions, communications, actions and when engaging with others
• Fluent English & Arabic (written & spoken).
• UAE National preferred.
