Role Summary/Purpose
The Production Support Engineer is responsible for the communication and maintenance of engineering information to the factory, suppliers, and contracted labor. This includes consulting on manufacturing process, engineering deviation approval, drawing and bill of material maintenance, and supplier consultation with respect to design intent and manufacturing clarification.
Essential Responsibilities
· Consult with manufacturing leaders and quality to clarify engineering documentation issues.
· update engineering documentation following prescribed change management practices
· Work with Quality Team in root cause analysis of manufacturing issues to determine proper closure of issues
· Act as engineering representation in Cost out, 3P, and Lean workouts and activities
· Act as engineering consultant for Suppliers
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university or relevant experience
