Job Description Summary
We are seeking a driven Mechanical Product Data Specialist to support the development and optimization of product configurators, automated drawing generation, and product data structures for circuit breaker products.
This role is essential to simplifying the product portfolio, reducing engineering variation, and enabling digital tools that improve order execution, drawing delivery, offshoring support, and new product introduction.
The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to build scalable data solutions that support future automation and digital manufacturing initiatives.
Job Description
Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and refine product-specific configurators to simplify the product portfolio and reduce engineering variation at order intake
·
Support the automation of general arrangement drawings through configurator-driven tools, reducing manual drafting effort and improving drawing turnaround time
·
Create and maintain structured product data needed to support engineering, manufacturing, and order execution processes
·
Provide dedicated data setup and configuration support for offshoring initiatives, new product introduction programs, and automation line implementation
·
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure product data is accurate, scalable, and ready for manufacturing execution
·
Identify opportunities to improve configurator logic, product data integrity, and automation workflows across the portfolio
·
Support digital manufacturing and automation projects by building the product data foundation required for successful implementation
·
Work with cross-functional stakeholders to reduce bottlenecks in engineering workflows and improve efficiency across multiple simultaneous initiatives
·
Support the introduction of new products from R&D by ensuring data structures, configurations, and documentation are production-ready
·
Contribute to future digital roadmap initiatives including advanced configurator capabilities, automation enablement, and AI-driven engineering tools
Required:
·
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited university or college.
·
3+ years of relevant industry and technical experience.
Desired:
·
Experience with 3D modeling software; Creo Parametric preferred.
·
Experience working with engineering data, product structures, bills of materials, and manufacturing systems in a production environment
·
Experience supporting cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams
·
Experience with product configurators, rules-based configuration tools, or engineering automation systems
·
Familiarity with ERP, PLM, MES, or related digital manufacturing systems
·
Strong understanding of product data structures, BOMs, and configuration logic
·
Experience supporting NPI, offshoring initiatives, or manufacturing automation projects
·
Ability to identify and implement process improvements that reduce engineering effort and improve execution speed
·
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
·
Experience working in engineer-to-order or complex industrial equipment environments is preferred
·
Prior experience with automated drawing generation or digital engineering tools is a plus

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
