Essential Responsibilities
· Manage the design, development, documentation, approval, implementation and monitoring of enterprise wide models for Synchrony Financial (SYF).
· Design and develop a variety of models in consumer credit: ALLL, loss forecasting, stress testing and capital planning (DFAST/CCAR, PPNR), economic capital, interest rate risk management, liquidity risk management covering required exposure across the SYF business.
· Support appropriate and optimal use of models in all required risk and finance processes: risk reporting and analytics, stress testing, ALLL/general reserves, capital allocation and management and portfolio optimization for risk/return.
· Keep pace with the latest developments in academia, regulatory environment, risk technology (vendor and internal) and the financial services industry.
· Develop, implement and manage holistic strategies for modeling (design, development, validation, calibration, documentation, approval, implementation, monitoring and reporting).
· Drive simplicity and efficiencies in the deployment of models, including wing-to-wing management of the model development, approval, implementation and monitoring process.
· Develop detailed documentation of processes, procedures and performance tracking related to model development and application process as required by the Supervisory Guidance on Model Risk Management SR11-7/OCC 2011-12.
· Manage assigned tasks.

Qualifications/Requirements
· The primary requirement is a Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Math, Statistics, Business, Economics, or Applied Economics, and three (3) years experience in a related Risk or Finance role. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Math, Statistics, Business, Economics, or Applied Economics, and one (1) year experience in a related Risk or Finance role.
· Position requires experience in financial services industry, and experience in modeling for risk with SAS (or equivalent).
· 40 hrs/wk, 8:00am-5:00pm, M-F, $107,000 to $110,000 per year.
