Role Summary/Purpose

The Machine Operator will operate primarily operate the legacy valve cell, other machines as assigned. We currently have openings for 1st Shift
for hours 6:00am – 2:30pm.
Essential Responsibilities

In addition you will : 

·  Must be able to set-up and run (2) multi-axis machining centers with live tooling 
·  Work from blueprints, operator inspection plans and verbal instructions 
·  Obtain required tooling and materials from departmental storage area, returning when job is completed 
·  Obtain special tooling and inspection equipment as required 
·  Make necessary adjustments to equipment and or tooling to attain specified dimensions and finishes 
·  Perform in-process inspection as required on inspection plans 
·  Change cutting tools and machine attachments as required 
·  Notify coach when supplies reach low limit or are required, when tools need sharpening and when equipment needs maintenance 
·  Move tools and material by hand truck, lift truck, conveyor, or manually 
·  Keep area and equipment clean and orderly and lubricates equipment on a scheduled basis 
·  Fill out all necessary forms and verify counts when work is completed 
·  Other duties as required

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Diploma / GED
Minimum of 2 years of CNC machining experience 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and
other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))
due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment. 
·  Ability and willingness to utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures 
·  Must be able to set-up and run (2) multi-axis machining centers with live tooling 
·  Strong blueprint reading (GD&T knowledge a must)
Desired Characteristics

·  Proficient in the set up and operation of Okuma and Hardinge / Miyano lathes and one or
more of the following: CNC Machining Centers / Cells, CNC lathes, and conventional machines
(i.e., mills, drills, lathes, grinders, hobs, etc.) 
·  Prior experience setting up and operating manual lathes and mills 
·  Capable of troubleshooting machinery 
·  Prior experience in a teaming environment
Actively pursues opportunities for cross-training (as both trainer and / or trainee) 
·  Exhibits ability to add lines of code to programs as needed
·  Understanding of the reasoning behind process dimensions and operation sequence 
·  Consistently meets productivity and efficiency expectations 
·  Ability to proactively mediate / facilitate team discussions 
·  Engage in sustaining engineering to resolve issues 
·  Ability to train others on all required computer applications 
·  Proven ability to demonstrate external focus, clear thinking, inclusiveness, expertise,
imagination and courage 
·  Safety conscious candidates must be detailed oriented as parts ran through this cell are complex, with many machined features with tight tolerances
