Job Description Summary

Lead Fluid Systems Design engineer utilizes engineering principles to design systems that enable of the operation of our Aeroderivative gas turbine. This includes systems like hydraulic start, ventilation and combustion air, turbine lube oil, gas fuel, liquid fuel, generator lube oil, and other systems. The role involves selecting and sizing pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and ventilation systems for various applications, as well as determining piping system requirements and specifying control limits to ensure proper and reliable system operation.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

·  Lead fluid system design reviews and coordinate necessary milestones and action items to closure.
·  Develop component specifications as needed and coordinate the interface requirements to the mechanical design, electrical design, and controls teams.
·  Support business critical programs like Product Cost Out (PCO) and Reliability, Accessibility and Maintainability (RAM).
·  Utilize fluid system expertise to support the overall Aero internal and external customers, including Aero Services, Manufacturing, CM&U, Applications/Sales, Project Management, etc.
·  Conducts component and product integration. All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance and operability. Manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down. Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing. Responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams. Manages interface between components and execution organizations.
Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components. Manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system.
·  Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
·  In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
·  Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
·  A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.

Required Qualifications

·  Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Engineering Technology from an accredited college and university
·  This role requires advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Component.

Desired Characteristics

·  Experience with AutoCAD
·  Experience with Unigraphics NX
·  Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills
·  Prior experience with system design or component selection
·  Open to applying AI-enabled solutions (e.g., automation, advanced analytics, or decision-support tools) to improve engineering efficiency, standardize methods, and enhance productivity.
