Role Summary/Purpose

Perform IP/ Technology/ Competitive Landscape studies for business in the area of Renewable energy generation technologies such as Wind & Solar. Work in close collaboration with Technology, Legal, Licensing and Commercial functions of the business by identifying technology gaps, assessing market competition and assisting in formulating IP and / or business strategy. Assess licensing potential of IP owned by GE business and identify monetization opportunities for GE.

Essential Responsibilities

As an intellectual property analyst, you will be actively involved in identifying and analyzing patent information to enable the creation and protection of intellectual property assets. Working closely with technology and legal functions, you will be responsible for understanding the competitive landscape and identifying IP creation & monetization opportunities for GE. Using your analytical abilities and technical understanding, you will help identify technology gaps, assess market competition, identify IP licensing & monetization opportunities and help formulate IP and/or business strategy for new products and new technology programs.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Masters / PhD in Electrical Engineering, preferably with specialization / experience in Renewable technologies, Power Electronics, and Grid technologies.
• Ability to work in a team having diverse technology expertise.
• Should be comfortable moving between different technical domain areas as per the business needs.
• Ability to demonstrate technical depth as well as an ability to adapt to other technologies as required.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Desired Characteristics

• Knowledge and/or experience related to Wind & Solar power generation technology.
• Knowledge of grid integration challenges for Wind/ Solar farms.
• Prior experience in Intellectual Property licensing & monetization.
