Job Description Summary
The Generator Mechanical Engineer role is an individual contributor responsible for the conceptual design, performance analysis, and verification of product components and systems. This involves the application of Chemical, Thermo-Mechanical, Electrical and Physical (Mechanical) properties of materials and products. Other activities will be interfacing and supporting manufacturing, suppliers, and business partners to assure that design and test intent from conceptual definition to finished product is achieved. The engineer has wide latitude for independent action, judgment, and decision making. The role requires qualities to integrate successfully into a global team of engineers. He or she must also take direction from other members of the design team and actively take on independent actions for testing and data analysis. There is an expectation for hands on testing and sample preparation for Generator materials.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. Follows an individual work plan and meets day-to-day short-term objectives. Has the ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
· Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program/product requirements
· Hands on product design, test preperation and testing to meet GES quality and design standards
· Support manufacturing, sourcing, field services, and installation activities as required for generator components with a focus on non-metallic materials
· Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
· Document and communicate results of technical data generated through design and/or testing
· Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
· Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
· Provide the GES engineering team support for new and ongoing innovation/design improvements
· Support GE Vernova Gas Power manufacturing facilities with ongoing quality assurance testing and evaluation
Required Qualifications
· BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent credentials
Desired Characteristics
· Experience in field of power generation
· Familiarity with design, test and analysis tools and systems
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 5% performance bonus . For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $71,600.00 and $107,400.00. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
