What impact you’ll make?
This role is within the Parts Forecasting Center of Excellence (COE), responsible for:

• Generating the Gas Power Services forecast/ demand plan covering, Leg GE Gas, Thermal Services Gas, Steam/ Gen, Airfoils and Flow components

• Managing the Demand Management Review (DMR) global process that is run on a monthly basis bringing together backlog and future convertible orders (forecast) requirements to support upgrades, core and contractual service agreement (CSA) business lines.

The end product is a demand signal that is utilized across the business to set supply capacity and financial targets. Success within this position is measure by improving forecast accuracy, optimizing inventory levels and improving on time delivery. The Forecasting Manager has extensive exposure to senior leadership.

It is an individual contributor role.

Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Manage the DMR process as the first step of the Sales Inventory & Operational Planning (SI&OP) process.
  • Design the demand plan which is the forecast of capital components for Gas Power Services over four years in monthly buckets at the part number level. 
  • Works closely with cross functional global teams including; Production Sales & Inventory (PSI), Materials, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain and Regional teams.  On a monthly basis the Forecasting Manager need to establish and facilitate operating mechanisms to prepare, present, influence and signoff the demand signal with each of these teams.
  • Will own the development of Demantra, an Oracle forecasting system.
  • Manage significant amounts of data, ensure high data quality, and analyze the data for meaningful results. 
  • Continuously improve each DMR release by spotting and eliminating waste.
  • Project manage to drive resolution with cross functional teams.
  • Lead Kaizen events to generate significant break throughs while continuing to manage existing process.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelors in Engineering, Computer/ Data Science, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing or other business related field.
  • Fluent written and oral English.
  • Experience managing large data sets and proficient use of Excel, including Extract Transform Load tools, ideally Power Query.
  • Capable of improving systems, ideally Oracle/ SAP.
  • Able to manage multiple processes and projects, setting and communicating priorities.
  • Experience working with limited direction and capable to make decisions with incomplete/ ambiguous information.
  • Experience working with global teams in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience in presenting to senior leadership
