Job Description Summary
As a CNC Plasma Operator, you will use various tools to set-up and operate the plasma table. Additionally, you will coordinate with Engineering/Programming to setup and run production orders. To be successful you will need basic blueprint reading skills while understanding specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances. You will also need working knowledge of metrology instruments (calipers, micrometers, ruler, and height gauge).This is an onsite position only available at our Erlanger, KY Service Center. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, with weekend work as optional. Available shifts include 6:45AM to 3:15PM.
Our Erlanger, KY Service Center is responsible for manufacturing/assembly and/or repairs of large utility grade Steam Turbines and Generators.
Job Description
Our Erlanger Service Center manufactures and repairs assemblies for steam power plants. As a CNC Plasma Operator, you will use a plasma cutting machine to cut material to be fabricated for assemblies.
- Sets-up and operates CNC Plasma Table
- Coordinates with Engineering/Programming to upload programs to machine
- Operate cranes, forklifts, grinders, and bevellers
- Basic blueprint reading – Understanding specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
- De-burr, grind and finish with hand tools or power-driven equipment
- Produce high quality work and achieve tight tolerances to fixtures and engineered drawings
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environment following all safety standards and requirements
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as required
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED
- 3+ years of experince with CNC Plasma or CNC Machine operation
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with plasma and oxy fuel cutting torches.
- Ability to follow all safety rules and wear all PPE as required.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, various shifts, holidays and weekends, as required.
- Ability to follow work rules, carry out instructions either written, oral, or diagram form.
- Desire to take ownership and accountability in work and in company success.
- Ability to work well with others and communicate problems clearly and effectively with support team.
