Role Summary/Purpose

Control Field Service Engineer will install, commission, and troubleshoot the Gas turbine, Steam Turbine control Systems and supporting wiring Systems for gas and steam turbines.
Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
Pre-outage and installation planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and procedures

Duties will consist of, but are not limited to, the following activities:
- Trace through the software documentation
- Implement control constant modifications
- Reading and Modifying software sequencing
- Set up and modify the hardware and software associated with the Gas/Steam Turbine control system
- Implement control system software changes
- Work with both DOS and Windows NT based operator interfaces
- Work with both analog and digital controls including logic
-Provide Technical Direction for wiring install and terminate, complete functionality checks, and troubleshooting the turbine MKVI, MKVIe. Perform start-up/shut-down sequencing and turbine/Compressor or turbine/generator operation.
Accountability:
Control of costs -mistakes could be detrimental to job cost
Quality control; preservation, protection, security, or safekeeping of turbine modules, office trailers, tool trailers/gang boxes, cranes, and accessories, spare parts.

Business Contacts:
Internal: Field Service Engineers are assigned to a Resource Manager, which they report to at least once per week. Field Service Engineers also report to HR/EHS personnel, payroll personnel, and Segment Manager as needed.
External: Field Service Engineers may report to the client, the plant/utility owner, the construction firm, giving daily or weekly updates on job progress or as needed
Qualifications/Requirements

Education/Experience:
Degree in Engineering, as well as 0-5 years of experience in power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance, or power plant equipment installation/ commissioning.

Skills/Knowledge:
Combustion turbine, steam turbine, controls, electrical or generator experience. Strong interpersonal skills, technical competence, leadership ability, computer skills and willingness to travel are necessary to become a capable field engineer
