Role Summary/Purpose
In this executive-level role, our new Software Leader, GE Additive will drive innovation in additive manufacturing software engineering. You will be a key member of the GE Additive leadership team and provide technical leadership to the organization. You will be responsible for building, leading and inspiring a specialized global software engineering team. By connecting machines, people, material & innovative processes, we are driving a new breed of digital industrial manufacturers.
Essential Responsibilities
As our new Executive Software Leader for GE Additive, you will :
· Design and build the Additive software team, including identifying critical competencies and skills
· Partner with the VP / Officer to build strategy and rapidly scale on software roadmap
· Lead and manage the software development process to design and build innovative and successful programs that scale and ensure positive business outcomes
· Be accountable for all in-process monitoring and designing programs that manipulate the layers
· Work closely with the manufacturing business and technical leaders, including machine software and controls teams, to define a strategy to differentiate our machines, capabilities and services
· Work closely with key stakeholders across the organization to define the technology roadmap and strategic priorities in construct with the product group and overall business strategy
· Establish and run Agile development and DevOps rhythms
· Focus on customer outcomes
· Collaborate closely with Product Management on product roadmap planning, functional and non-functional requirements and product release planning to ensure we’re building world-class products
· Attract, retain and develop an exceptional team and own the staffing, head-count planning, functional skill mix, expertise, and training programs and processes
· Demonstrate creativity and initiative
· Build a culture that motivates and energizes the best engineers and architects, and encourages the career development of all team members
· Be a hands-on leader
· Conduct and participate in review code, review design docs, give technical talks, teaching classes and develop future leaders
· Operate with efficiency
· Manage development costs to plan

· PLEASE NOTE : Work Location listed is West Chester, OH. However, other US locations may be considered, such as Boston, MA or Pittsburgh, PA
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in a “STEM” Major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited university or college
· A minimum of 12 years of experience in information technology, software and / or technical engineering roles with a minimum of 6 years in a software product development environment
· A minimum of 3 years of experience in 3D printing / additive manufacturing
· A minimum of 6 years of experience managing / leading a globally distributed, cross functional (software engineers, architects, quality assurance, UX, etc.) organization
· GE Leadership Program Graduates will receive credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :

· Ability and willingness to travel 35%
· PLEASE NOTE : Must be willing to work out of an office located where GE Additive has an established presence (including, Cincinnati, OH; Boston, MA; Pittsburgh, PA)

· Ability to balance the role of customer advocate with urgency while simultaneously managing the delivery and quality in a fast-paced environment
· Expertise in complex technical project management and a proven track record for delivering projects on¬time with limited budget and resources
· Demonstrates expertise in problem solving and technical innovation
Technical Expertise:
· Experience developing software in an Agile environment
· Ability to link technology solutions to business priorities and can represent technology decisions in executive forums
· Understands the business drivers and proposes solutions that support the changing needs of the business
· Demonstrated success establishing a streamlined software development process including solid documentation and exceptional functional quality and reliability
· Strong distributed systems and architecture knowledge, and experience with multi-tier architecture
· Know how to build value models and business models

· Acts as industry expert by participating in defining standards and open source initiatives
