Role Summary/Purpose

The Drilling Lead FP&A Analyst will drive revenue and margin analysis. In this role, you will develop reporting mechanisms and analysis that simply and clearly communicate operational drivers of the business. You will be involved in short term and long-term planning, and work with the Drilling leadership team to define and achieve the overall business strategy.
Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Drilling Lead FP&A Analyst you will:

·  Participate and analyze profit drivers in weekly Income Statement QMI with Drilling Leadership

·  Assist in month end closing processes by preparing and distributing reporting packages (Op profit walks, Drilling Leadership Package, Backlog convertibility, cost drivers)

·  Prepare margin driver analysis within the business segments

·  Understand, communicate and explain variance drivers and identify root cause and action owners for each

·  Communicate with Drilling business leaders to ensure operational activities and financial outcomes are aligned

·  Identify risks and opportunities during each quarter, and lead team in mitigating risks and capitalizing on opportunities

·  Assist in consolidation of planning cycle processes including Blueprints, SII, & Op Plan (Orders, Sales, CM, Base Cost including Headcount & NPI)

·  Provide insight to the business leadership team on key business drivers through financial reporting and ad-hoc analyses

·  Participate in ongoing FP&A initiatives to achieve financial targets
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from an accredited college or university

·  Minimum 3 years of financial experience

·  Ability to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change

·  Clear thinking / problem solving

·  Successfully led cross-functional projects / process improvement within operations / finance function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas

·  Experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), and functions

·  Ability to clearly communicate complex financial information in a easy to understand manner

·  Ability to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing

·  Strong influencing skills across business functions; confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position

·  Work closely with business leaders to achieve business objectives while driving controllership

·  Financial Management Program graduate is preferred (GE internal only)

·  Extensive knowledge of GE business operations is preferred
