Role Summary/Purpose

As Data Visualization Engineer, you will be responsible for development and testing of visualization tools and provide support for analytic products and enterprise grade applications at scale. An Ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about design and development, learn & adapt to changing technologies, and can work effectively both independently and in a team of developers.
Essential Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities: As Data Visualization Engineer, you will:
• Develop and test data visualization solutions for enterprise-grade analytics reporting
• Assist in semantics and metadata development.
• Apply standard development procedures and detailed applications knowledge to create technical designs driving towards simple sustainable and reusable solutions
• Execute QA testing and resolve defects and deliver per project plan
• Work in an Agile Scrum team and support development of analytic software products on an Internet of Things (IOT) platform.
• Work closely with multiple stake holders that includes engineers with oil & gas domain expertise to deliver high quality scalable software
• Contribute to design enhancement.
• Ability to influence at the peer level is key.
Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
• High attention to detail including ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
• Able to communicate technical details with clarity to various stakeholders
• Ability to track, recommend, and implement resolutions to issues

Eligibility Requirements:
• Legal authorization to work in India. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
• Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
• Must be willing to travel
• Must be willing to work out of an office located in Bangalore, India
Desired Characteristics

Desired Characteristics:
• 3 years of JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5 and CSS Experience
• Hands-on experience in interactive graphics, data visualizations, data mining, and data analysis
• Demonstrated ability to work with D3 and Three.js frameworks
• Well versed with SQL, SQL based tools
• Advanced skills in dash boarding tools such as QlikView, Qlik Sense or Tableau
• Experience in working in Scrum teams and Agile methodology
• Ability to learn new technologies and take on hands-on development work based on business priorities
• Must be a team player with good attitude.
• Works well in fast paced growing environment.
• Effective teaming and problem solving abilities
• Able to interface effectively with peers in the organization

Technical Expertise:
• Well versed in modern web visualization frameworks (e.g. D3, Raphael, Highcharts or Flot)
• Hands on work with JSON or a comparable language
• Exposure to Big Data trends and patterns around building analytics is a plus.
• Knowledge about build tools like gulp/grunt, maven etc.
• Experience with standard charts and visualizations
• Knowledge of visualization best practices
• Expertise in building and consuming APIs
• Demonstrated ability developing for SaaS and PaaS solutions

• Strong business analysis and problem solving skills
• Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses

Leadership:
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams to help build effective solutions
• Strong oral and written communication skills including executive level presentation skills
