Role Summary/Purpose
This 1 year internship will be based at the GE Monitoring and Diagnostics site in Lisburn, and is an excellent work experience opportunity for an enthusiastic university student to gain experience working in a multi-functional team. The successful applicant will work within the sensor technology team applying data analysis tools to help meet business objectives.
Essential Responsibilities
· Work as part of the sensor technology team on R&D projects.
· Learn & understand the operation of GE monitoring products.
· Analyse key data sets and create algorithms and software tools.
· Learn and apply concepts around machine learning and other relevant data analytics techniques.
· Document and present results to management and the wider engineering team.
Qualifications/Requirements
· Completed at least 2 years in a Science/Maths/Computer Science degree.
· Experience and strong working ability with a computer language (C/Matlab etc.)
· Knowledge of Machine learning concepts and SPC analysis would be desirable.
· The ability to work within a team, or under own initiative.
· Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
