Role Summary/Purpose
The position of Engineer- Cyber Security Engineer requires an individual that possesses understanding of industrial cyber security, information technology and engineering principles as well as exhibits project management and communication skills.
Essential Responsibilities
In the role of Cyber Engineer, you will:
· Provide system design engineering as required to facilitate the ordering, engineering, installation (construction) design and commissioning of GE and third-party control systems, industrial networks and cyber security products
· Configure switches, routers, firewalls, virtual machines, etc
· Develop configuration in software such as Active Directory, Acronis, Sophos, Splunk, Shavlik, etc
· Interpret network topologies and have the ability to issue revisions based on installed updates
· Support Engineering Services field personnel in technical resolution of field problems
· Be able to handle multiple projects / activities
· Provide assistance with quality assurance on projects
· Review and interpret customer specifications.
· Support development of proposal, design and construction technical work scope
· Utilize standard design processes to effectively promote and competitively position GE as a value-added systems integrator providing customer solutions
· Interpret customer needs, understand technical issues / constraints, and provide technical screen of opportunities
· Support productivity gains with utilization of designers and outsourced engineering alternatives
· Develop, utilize, and promote engineering design tools and standards to further the drive for productivity in the design of control system projects
· Be able and willing to travel both domestically and internationally approximately 30% of the time, as required
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering from an
accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with a minimum 4 years of experience in IT networking)
Eligibility Requirements:
· Travel ~30% of the time both domestically and internationally, as required

Desired Characteristics
· Minimum 1 year of experience in the industrial controls or power generation industry
· Proven team player with solid cooperation, flexibility and mentoring traits
· Proficient MS Office computer skills
· Strong computer skills in setting up Windows based applications including Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Server 2008, Windows 10, Server 2012 and thin client
· Familiar with Splunk, Acronis, Shavlik, Active Directory
· One or more of the following IT Certifications: CISM, Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), CSP, GIAC, LPT, PCIP, CCNA, CCNP,CITP, SSEC
· Familiarity with North American Electric Reliability Corp (NERC), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) regulation / standards
· Hands-on experience programming GE Speedtronic series turbine control and Cimplicity HMI softwares
· Knowledge or understanding of industrial network communication protocols – such as modbus, OPC, TCP / IP, etc
· Technical skills in engineering design and construction practices
· Practical knowledge of industry codes and standards (Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers, Nippon Electric Company, National Fire Protection Agency, National Electrical Manufacturers Association & related)
· Ability to analyze technical specifications, tender documents and proposals, and develop detailed design / construction packages
· Customer service oriented
· Understanding of quality engineering design processes and certification standards (Six Sigma, International Standards Organization, etc)
· Field experience in related equipment
