Role Summary/Purpose
The System Integration Specialist is responsible for specifying, implementing and testing of integration and configuration of assigned projects based on customer requirements and their documentation giving visibility of its progress to the project stakeholders.
Essential Responsibilities
• Working with customers to serve as an expert in the system integrations and configurations field throughout Healthcare IT projects
• Co-ordination and execution of all tasks related to data exchange interfaces in PACS, HIS, RIS, CIS or other GEHC-IT Systems in conjunction with customers, 3rd party vendors, Project Managers, Application Specialists and the Service Teams
• Advanced workflow integrations via multiple communication protocols as well as database communication with SQL statements and stored procedures
• Documentation of all necessary documents to meet the standards of GE Project Implementation Methodology .
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor degree in Computer science, Information technology, medical informatics, medical engineering, medical imaging, or related subjects
• Minimum of 3-5 years experiences in working in medical informatics, medical engineering, radiology, or IT related fields
• Excellent understanding of HL7, DICOM, IHE and RIS/PACS/EMR/HIS workflow
• Fundamental knowledge of one GE HCIT Product
• Understanding of RIS/PACS applications and related workflows
• Implement standard interfaces based on HL7, ASTM, XML and CSV files
• Knowledge of SQL statements and stored procedures. In-depth knowledge of Cloverleaf or related product
• Able to work independently, with the team
• English communication
• Willingness to travel at least 20%
Desired Characteristics
Technical Skills
• Strong Oracle/Sybase/MS-SQL PL/SQL programming knowledge
• Any front end programing skills such as VB, VBScript, VC++, Dot Net or java/Java Script, HTML or any latest 4GL programming tools (Windows, TCP/IP Socket, Database, COM/DCOM, ActiveX and etc.)
• Reporting tools ex: Crystal Reports etc.
Functional Skills
• Understand, analyze and optimize clinical workflows and dataflows in healthcare environment
• Support the Remote Online Center by use of existing knowledge bases, give valuable input to Support Central cases and consistently solve Support Central cases at ASEAN level
• Understand, analyze and design IT networks and implement / troubleshoot http and Web Service interfaces
• Understand, analyze and design databases within a healthcare environment
• Understand, analyze and troubleshoot communication standards
• Provide communication standard knowledge shares and training courses to colleagues and hold the status of a “go to person”, key reference for consulting
• Understand, analyze and troubleshoot Cloverleaf or related product
Soft Skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
• Strong documentation skills required
Pre Sales Activities:
• Provide value to the team in preparation and execution of presales plans. Strong involvement with tender / EOI response development. Ability to present system integration concepts to customer.
