Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
· Responsible and accountable for the overall quality and integrity of the build process for the GIS installation / maintenance
· Responsible for the raising, submission, and site closure of product-based NCPs (Nonconformity project)
· Responsible for the liaison between the GIS product unit and the Service units’ client of over GIS Product and installation issues
· Responsible for the on-time production of reports over project progress and product issues to GIS PL Project manager.
· Shared responsibility for evaluation, appraisals and reviews of GE or subcontractors’ technicians and apprentices
· Responsible for the daily management and setting to work of field resource in order to maximize the potential for project success by effective and efficient operation of the GIS Installation Team ensuring that all agreed work is carried out in accordance with the pre-set time scales and costs.
· Promote safe working practices and continual improvement in GE Grid site safely culture
· Responsible for the liaison between the GIS product Trading Unit and the Service units’ client of over GIS Product and installation issues
· Responsible for the on-time production of reports over project progress and product issues to GIS PL Project manager.
· Shared responsibility for evaluation, appraisals and reviews of GE or subcontractors’ technicians and apprentices
· Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of the Service site projects, ensuring that agreed work is carried out in accordance with the pre-set time scales and costs.
· Responsible for the integrity and quality of GE product installation, repair, commissioning, and maintenance.
· Responsible for the undertaking investigative site visits to establish and report on equipment condition monitoring and equipment failure.
· Responsibility for the daily management and setting to work of field resource to maximise the potential for successful Project and/or Service delivery.
· Responsible for reporting to the Project Manager (and Field Service Interface Manager) and on matters of installation/maintenance/repair progress, resource requirements/utilization and engineering issues and contract variations
· Responsible for raising and issue of Site installation RAMS, Variations, NCR’s, TQ’s and Site Instructions. (Informing Solutions Group Site Manager/Project Manager/ Engineer of site installation variations where applicable)
· Shared responsibility for evaluation, appraisals and reviews of GE technicians and apprentices
· To effectively manage, and budget.
· To ensure accurate on-site records, reports and quality documentation are created, filed and circulated in accordance with GE internal governance and GE quality plans.
· This role will include extensive travel across the Belgian and overseas.
Financial control:
· Responsible for organizing work to an agreed programme and to execute the programme within the pre-set time scales and costs.

Required Qualifications
Education/Experience:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems
· Ideally VCA & BA4/5 certified
Specific Knowledge:
· Substation Primary Plant Construction and installation techniques, previous experience in secondary wiring, is a must.
Business understanding:
· Knowledge of Transformer and HV Service business
· Ability to communicate effectively, with both internal and external networks
Language(s):
· English.
· Dutch & French are a plus.
Technical knowledge and skills
· Experience in the installation, repair, commissioning and maintenance of HV Plant
· Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and a good understanding of the roles and duties of the Principal Contractor and Contractor
· Site Construction experience in a position of leadership (Foreman/Charge hand)
· Be comfortable working at heights and confined spaces.
· Possess a strong commitment and enthusiasm to the role.
· Have a confident personality with good verbal and written communication skills.
· Be highly self-motivated, be able to work in a small team and independently.
· Have good problem-solving abilities.
· Experience of common Microsoft packages and good IT skills.
· High degree of flexibility, extremely motivated with the ability to confidently work under pressure.
· Be happy working away from home and travelling Belgium wide, and possibly overseas when required.
