Role Summary/Purpose

Will perform visual and test inspections to written plans on a variety of materials, parts, equipment and finished products
Essential Responsibilities

• Use simple inspection gauges and test equipment. Inspect for adherence to technical orders, specification, checklists, processing methods, and accompanying paperwork. 
• Verify conditions, quantity, and identity of parts before releasing from area.  
• Must certify if needed in fluorescent penetrant equipment and visual inspection of fluorescent penetrant parts.  
• Will keep necessary records and perform related duties. 
• Instruct and train others as required.

FOR FPI ONLY:

An NDT Level II individual should be qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. The NDT Level II should be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods for which he is qualified and should exercise assigned responsibility for the on-the-job training and guidance of trainees.
Qualifications/Requirements

• Demonstrate the use of basic precision measuring instruments including micrometers, dial calipers, and dial indicators. 

• Demonstrate some working knowledge of machine shop blueprints and engineering sketches 
• Proficient in the use shop math as necessary, including fractions and decimals. 
• Ability to work with computers, applications, and keyboarding 

• Possess analytical aptitude with methodical attention to detail. 
• Ability to certify to FPI Level II (Pass qualification test)

Desired Characteristics

• 18+ months Experience in inspection of aircraft hardware. 
• Ability to perform visual and mechanical inspection. 
• Certified in fluorescent penetrant level II 
• Ability to use special gauges, optical comparator, and length gauges. 

• Ability to learn and operate material handling and lifting devices, including ability to obtain forklift license as required.
