Job Description Summary
The Aircraft Performance & Economics Lead Engineer will execute and own aircraft/engine performance and economic analyses that support engine design studies, product positioning, and customer discussions. In this role, you will translate business and customer needs into analysis requirements, build and evaluate alternative concepts, perform trade studies, and communicate conclusions to cross-functional stakeholders in engineering, product line, marketing, and sales.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
· Define and manage analysis requirements: Help establish internal/external requirements for mission, route, and economic assessments; clarify scope, assumptions, and inputs/outputs with stakeholders.
· Execute mission and value studies: Run mission analyses (fuel burn, payload, range) and economic value assessments for current and future aircraft models to support design and business decisions.
· Perform trade studies and recommend options: Create and compare alternate aircraft/engine concepts and document trade-offs and recommendations with guidance from technical leaders.
· Support campaigns and customer discussions: Contribute to marketing and sales efforts through route analysis, derate assessments, and value-sell technical substantiation; participate in customer/airframer exchanges as needed.
· Communicate results and integrate across teams: Provide clear summaries, datasets, and conclusions to engineering, product line, marketing, sales, and leadership; ensure work products integrate with program needs.
· Improve tools and standard processes: Drive efficiency, capability, and fidelity improvements in analysis workflows and standard processes, consistent with continuous improvement expectations.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university or college
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in aerospace engineering
