The Advanced Measurements Technology section leader will lead a high-performing team to define the strategy and drive the execution for our core measurements technology platforms and products. You will be responsible for advancing measurements and sensing technologies to support next generation aerospace products and propulsion technologies.
This role requires a unique blend of leadership skills, deep technical expertise, and a strong technical product management background to lead multidisciplinary organization to build scalable, reliable, and high-impact measurement and sensing solutions. You will standardize technology and product development practices and develop talent to meet current program needs and future roadmap requirements. The manager is accountable for strategic direction, execution excellence, and people leadership across multiple teams, ensuring solutions meet stringent performance, reliability, and integration requirements.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

·  Define and drive section strategy aligned to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.
·  Own end-to-end data quality and execution of measurement systems. Reduce measurement uncertainty and improve signal integrity via standards, design reviews, and continuous improvement.
·  Create and maintain clear, actionable roadmaps, balancing short-term deliverables with long-term strategic goals. Prioritize features and initiatives that provide customer impact as early as possible, using a data-driven approach to ensure maximum impact and value.
·  Translate internal customer requirements into robust architectures, product strategies, and verification plans for sensors, signal conditioning, embedded acquisition, and end-to-end measurement solutions.
·  Technology Road mapping; Define and execute the measurements technology roadmap. Evaluate emerging technologies and drive qualification, standardization, and adoption across labs and product lines.
·  Partner with measurements operations to qualify, pilot, and scale emerging technologies (e.g., optical, MEMS, wireless, advanced signal processing) into operations.
·  Utilize systems engineering and product management principles to align deliverables to key customer needs, goals and objectives, ensure traceability from requirements to verification & validation, and manage risks.  Champion multi-generational product plans and configuration control.
·  Drive disciplined program execution — resource planning, risk management, milestone adherence, and cross-functional integration with design, test, systems, and manufacturing partners.
·  Manage portfolio-level prioritization, resource allocation, and risk mitigation across programs and sites to meet committed schedules.
·  Drive workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning for engineers and specialists to ensure capacity, capability, and resiliency for current and future demand.
·  Lead, coach and develop frontline leaders, technical product managers, and other team members. Foster collaboration, technical rigor, and continuous improvement to deliver against Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives. Set clear expectations and drive accountability.
·  Support proposals and program planning with credible estimates, risk assessments, and delivery commitments. Own budgets and cost performance; apply value engineering, reuse strategies, and productivity initiatives to meet cost targets.
·  Establish annual and quarterly objectives, roadmaps, and investment priorities; run tiered operating reviews across sites. Build and steward the operating system for technology and product development: standard work, playbooks, metrics, and visual management
·  Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

·  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
·  Minimum of 10 additional years of experience in a Technical or Engineering position.
·  Minimum of 3 years of experience as a manager/people leader leading team of engineers/specialists.
·  Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
·  Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.  We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future for this job opening.
·  Ability and willingness to work flexible and off-shift hours when business needs dictate
·  Ability and willingness to travel to and support operations at offsite locations when business needs dictate.

Desired Characteristics

·  Depth of experience leading teams directly or indirectly; team champion and advocate, with effective leadership/team building skills. Ability to guide, coach and influence others.
·  Technical product management, system engineering, or similar experience managing products through the full lifecycle.
·  Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams and delivering complex, multi-stakeholder programs. Ability to inspire teams, lead, and sustain change.
·  Project management and execution experience in a cross-functional team environment with projects of high complexity across a matrixed organization.
·  Familiarity with aerospace test environment; prior test measurements & instrumentation experience preferred.
·  Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
·  Strong organizational skills with proven ability to lead multiple initiatives/projects to completion simultaneously.
·  Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining focus on SQDC priorities
·  Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside GE.
·  Post graduate degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering is desirable
