Foot Locker is looking for Interns to join the Supply Chain team in Reno, Nevada . The Supply Chain team is a high functioning team with expertise in inventory management, logistics, and cross functional partnerships that ensures the right products reach the right places at the right time, driving customer satisfaction and business growth.
Working with cross-functional teams, the Supply Chain Operations Internship role will work to understand and address business and customer needs while developing key skills in team interactions, problem solving and communication. Interns will partner with leadership to help manage and streamline the day to day operations of the distribution center. Responsibilities
· Summer program working out of one of Foot Locker’s Distribution Centers working closely with team members and leaders to develop an understanding of how Foot Locker’s distribution centers operate.
· Support the execution of daily operations by working beside team member to lead, motivate and influence a team.
· Learn how to problem solve, lead and motivate a team, conduct real-time observations, and drive results, all while ensuring safety is a top priority and that we are maximizing productivity to get products to our customers quickly.
· Taking initiative to seeking out opportunities for growth and development; continuously learn throughout the internship experience
· Demonstrate a willingness to take risks; step out of your comfort zone and take on new assignments
· Foster an inclusive, diverse, safe, and secure culture
· Gain an understanding of all business areas to develop business acumen
· Working with buildings leaders each day to set goals and expectations
· Carrying out principal duties and responsibilities by the department through internship rotations as trained
· Spending time on the distribution center floor helping to lead amongst team members and aligning the team in daily priorities
· Maintaining a high standard of quality/inventory accuracy through standardization of processes while also ensuring employee accountability
· Tracking various KPI’s such as safety, quality and productivity to identify gaps, and drive actions in order to maintain consistent performance
· Leading daily meetings for the operational team, share pertinent company and site-specific information
· Provide new ideas and recommend solutions for business or team opportunities
· All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
To qualify for an internship with Foot Locker, individuals must:
· Undergraduate (Rising Junior or Rising Senior) or graduate business student pursuing an Engineering, Data Annlytics, MIS, Supply Chain, Logistics or similarly related field.
· 3.2 GPA
· Solid analytical skills and self-motivated.
· Effective communication skills for all levels of the organization
· Ability to work cross-functionally
· Willingness to learn with hands-on experience
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Work Environment:
This position works in a warehouse setting, with limited outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, RF scanner, and tape dispensers. Based on business necessity associates may be required to temporarily work in other locations that require different physical demands.
