Overview
The Statutory Reporting department is responsible for performing all statutory financial reporting tasks applicable to legal entities part of the Foot Locker Group within Europe and Asia.
As a valuable member of the Finance Statutory Reporting team the Manager, Statutory Reporting is accountable for several local legal entities financial statement reporting’s, focusing on timely and accurate completion of related tasks, including managing and preparing for the local statutory audit process.
The Manager, Statutory Reporting (15 months) is expected to function as the primary owner and main point of contact for the management and fulfillment of the timely completion of local accounting requirements related to the assigned legal entities
Responsibilities
· Own end-to-end statutory reporting processes for assigned legal entities by performing on the following:
· Function as the primary point of contact for statutory reporting matters for the assigned legal entities.
· Able to understand, prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, investigate and adjust differences between US GAAP and local GAAP, as required.
· Review the deliverables provided by external accounting service providers, where applicable.
· Ensure accurate, timely preparation and filing of the statutory financial statements in compliance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements, where applicable.
· Provide timely audit supporting documentation to external auditors in line with agreed turnaround timelines: a. In cases, audit support must be provided by other Foot Locker teams, work with internal stakeholders for on-time delivery of audit support.
· Cross-functionally collaborate, drive communications & hold accountability with other Foot Locker teams, such as Legal and Tax teams, as well as with external third parties, advisors, and auditors.
· Manage and drive resolution of all open items arising from internal &/or external queries relating to the timely completion & filing of the financial statements
· Update relevant accounting and tracking data (e.g. status tracking sheets, intercompany files, secondary ledger [when implemented], etc) on a timely basis.
· Able to manage stakeholder communications and provide well thought out solutions or next steps to resolve ongoing day-to-day tasks.
· Drive continuous improvement in the statutory reporting processes with a mindset of enhancing efficiency and reducing reporting timelines:
· Able to advise management on process improvements and able to design enhanced processes for satisfying new local reporting requirements.
· Execute tasks in accordance with company values, policies, procedures and also as required for SOX compliance.
· Participate and/or lead projects/initiatives that support Foot Locker priorities.
Qualifications
· Graduate degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics, in combination with minimum 3+ years’ hands-on experience.
· CPA/CMA/ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification is a plus.
· Preferably experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm or a US owned European Company.
· Fluent in English; other additional European languages would be valuable.
· Hands-on experience with ERP systems.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Knowledge of accounting closing processes and controls.
· A collaborator with a service-oriented attitude including initiative-taking thinking/actioning.
· Strong attention to details including excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
· Ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
