The opportunity

 

EY is investing significantly in the build out of Data and AI services that leverage Microsoft Azure.  This is a rapidly growing area and you will have the opportunity to lead and develop your skill set to keep up with the ever-growing demands of the modern data platform and enterprise data fabric landscape, that support data science, business intelligence, artificial intelligence, and cloud applications at scale. You will help our clients with designing and building data and analytics architectures to enable better business outcomes.  You will work across client stakeholders to determine solution requirements and rationalize architecture decisions. During implementation, you will collect, aggregate, and analyze structured/unstructured data from multiple internal and external sources, present patterns and insights, and scaling data for use in ML and AI use cases. Your key responsibilities

 

As an Azure Data Platform Engineer, Senior, you will be focusing on architecting and developing solutions, leading more junior team members, and working with a wide variety of clients to deliver tech consulting services.

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

·  Translating business requirements to technical solutions leveraging strong business acumen.
·  Applying technical knowledge to architect solutions that meet business and IT needs, create Data Platform roadmaps, and enable the Data Platform to scale to support additional use cases (e.g. Azure ML, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure EventHub/IoT Hub, Power BI etc.)
·  Collaborating with other Cloud Solution Architects in developing complex end-to-end Enterprise solutions on Microsoft Azure platform.
·  Supporting the strategy, planning, and implementation of data design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance and performing needs assessments.
·  Developing and maintaining data lake and data warehouse schematics, layouts, architectures and relational/non-relational databases for data access and Advanced Analytics.
·  Ability to conduct data profiling, cataloguing, and data mapping for technical design using a use case-based approach that drives the construction of technical data flows.
·  The ability to apply such methods to solve business problems using one or more Azure Data and Analytics services in combination with designing and building data pipelines, data streams, and system integrations.
·  Understanding customers’ overall data estate, IT and business priorities and success measures to design implementation architectures and solutions.
·  Assessing the Customers' knowledge of Azure Data Platform and overall cloud data readiness to support customers through a structured learning plan and ensure its delivery.
·  Strong team collaboration and experience working with remote teams.
·  Working on large-scale client engagements.  Fostering relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels. Consistently delivering quality client services. Driving high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget.
·  Monitoring progress, managing risk and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.
·  Provides directional guidance and recommendations around data flows including data technology, data integrations, data models, and data storage formats
·  Staying abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business

 

To qualify for the role you must have  

·  Bachelor’s degree, or MS degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or Machine Learning.
·  At least three years of professional consulting experience in big data and data engineering
·  Deep understanding of ETL, ELT, data ingestion/cleansing and engineering skills
·  Breadth of technical experience and knowledge, with depth / Subject Matter Expertise in two or more of the following Microsoft Data Platform Cloud solutions required:
·  Data Ingestion and Storage including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Kafka and Spark Streaming, Azure EventHub/IoT Hub, and Azure Stream Analytics
·  Data Engineering including Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks with experience with Python and T-SQL. Experience with Azure functions, C# .NET, and SSIS is a plus.
·  Cloud Big Data Analytics in Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Analysis Services, and Snowflake
·  Advanced Analytics and Model Management including Azure Databricks, Azure ML/ MLFlow as well as deployment of models using Azure Kubernetes Service
·  Relational Databases including Azure SQL, SQL Server
·  NoSQL Databases including Cosmos DB
·  Data Governance, Data Catalog, Master Data Management
·  PowerBI experience is a plus
·  Working experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD paired with knowledge of Agile and/or Scrum methods of delivery
·  Working experience with Visual Studio, PowerShell Scripting, and ARM templates
·  Knowledge of Lambda and Kappa architecture patterns.
·  Extensive experience connecting to various data sources and structures: APIs, NoSQL, RDBMS, Blob Storage, Data Lake, etc.
·  Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Quality tools and processes.
·  Ability to help customers engineer Azure Data Solutions based on current on-premise data centers.
·  Communication is essential, must be able to listen and understand the question and develop and deliver clear insights.
·  Independent and able to manage and prioritize workload.
·  Ability to quickly and positively adapt to change.
·  A valid driver’s license in the US; willingness and ability to travel to meet client needs.

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

·  Experience working on data engineering projects that have supported data science, business intelligence, artificial intelligence, and cloud applications at scale
·  MS Certifications: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Fundamentals
