About the Role

The Smart Metering Manager will oversee the operational aspects of our smart metering solutions for gas and electricity. This role will focus on enhancing operational processes, driving team performance, and working towards key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the success of our smart metering initiatives.

This is a Hybrid role assigned to our Leeds office where the successful candidate would be based two days a week.

Summary of key responsibilities

·  Manage day-to-day operations of the smart metering program and industry targets, ensuring efficient deployment and management of gas and electricity meters.
·  Drive team performance through clear objectives, regular feedback, and performance metrics, ensuring high standards of service delivery aligned with KPIs.
·  Ensure accurate data collection and reporting from smart meters, implementing quality control measures to maintain data integrity.
·  Work closely with the Regulations Manager to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards related to smart metering operations and ensuring RFIs are proactively completed and submitted
·  Management of the Guaranteed Standards of Practice ensuring we are abiding by OFGEM SLAs (Service Level Agreement) in line with Performance Assurance and payments
·  Encourage a sense of ownership and accountability amongst team members with a ‘right first time’ mentality
·  Work closely with other departments, such as customer service, Complaints, and Billing, to facilitate smooth operations and resolve any issues.

 

 

Knowledge and skills:

·  Good knowledge of industry processes particularly the relevant areas of the Licences, UNC, BSC (Balancing & Settlement Code), MRA, DCUSA (Distribution Connection Use of System Agreement), SEC (Smart Energy Code), SMICOP and DTC/Xoserve flows is desirable.
·  Understanding of the customer lifecycle and interdependencies between Onboarding and interfacing departments.
·  Non-technical understanding of software interfaces and incident resolution paths
·  Proven ability to produce accurate work within tight deadlines.
·  Practical approach to problem solving
·  Excellent Customer Service skills

 

Experience:

·  Previous management experience is a requirement for this role.
·  Experience from a similar role within the Energy sector is essential
·  Experience in a customer satisfaction focused or back office senior role
·  Demonstratable ability to succeed in a complex and dynamic environment
