Job Description :

The Manager of Influencer Advocacy and Integrated communications role is to develop and implement non-traditional integrated communications plans that embed Diageo brands in key cultural moments driving earned advocacy for Diageo brands.  In this capacity, the Manager will drive influencer marketing, branded entertainment and strategic partnership strategies to deliver against business and consumer objectives.  This role requires strong leadership, communications and relationship management skills to deliver comprehensive programs including Public Relations, Event management, sponsorship activation, branded entertainment to help drive brand fame, advocacy and cultural relevancy.  Role requires strong trendspotting capabilities, extensive contacts among journalists, bloggers, earned digital media and understanding of lifestyle marketing. 

Responsibility :

·  Accelerate Diageo efforts to build culturally relevant brands through media relations, influencer marketing, advocacy, branded entertainment and non-traditional content development, partnerships, sponsorship/event activation and internal communications.
·  Establish and implement integrated campaigns that are aligned with brand strategy to drive reach, awareness, buzz and social conversation for the brands.
·  Amplify brand platforms through influencer, entertainment and partnership strategies to deliver cultural currency and incremental sales volume.Embed influencer, advocacy (earned) and integrated communications capabilities within focus brands providing scale to influencer, entertainment and partnership strategies.
·  Bring forth innovative creative ideas that are measurable relevant, provide positive brand exposure and are financially feasible to execute for the brands.
·  Collaborate across multiple Diageo departments, including brand teams, media & productivity, innovation, commercial marketing, sales and partner organizations.
·  Protect and enhance the reputation of the company, its brands, its route to market and ability to conduct business in the least restrictive, most positive way.
·  Train stakeholders and brand spokespeople to communicate brand messages in public forums, media interviews, etc. in a manner that reflects positively on the brands and Diageo.
·  Establish and maintain positive coverage of the Diageo portfolio as a socially responsible company with media (both trade and consumer) and to targeted consumer audiences.
·  Effectively manage external agencies and additional third parties for best in class program ideation, implementation and delivery of results within budget and scope of work.
·  Work in conjunction with Diageo legal team and Corporate Relations to solicit proper marketing approvals for all events and campaigns.
·  Work with Diageo Legal and Corporate Relations to insure that all campaigns and supporting activities align with the Diageo Code of Business Conduct and adhere to Diageo Marketing Code.
·  Ability to establish strong measurement and evaluation for program effectiveness and to deliver brand and business goals
·  Manage a budget range of $2-5M

Complexity of Role:

·  Skilled in the art of media relations, message development and crisis management, with an understanding of public policy.
·  Must be experienced within influencer marketing and advocacy, talent partnership management, brand integration, branded entertainment and non-traditional content development, sponsorship/event activation, internal communications and have strong digital and social capabilities.
·  Must have experience working directly with broad ranges of media inclusive of print, broadcast, digital and social.
·  A proven ability to execute programs with success, specifically in the digital and social media landscape.
·  Experience working with a broad range of agencies and business partners (premium and luxury).
·  Must apply a strong understanding of brand strategies and the target consumer to deliver against measured metrics.
·  Must develop strong cross-functional relationships internally and externally, including brand teams, agencies, potential partners and sales teams.

·  Bring forth ideas and emerging platforms to drive brand fame, earned value and cultural relevancy.
·  Develop and execute integrated campaigns and programs that will drive shareholder value and generate growth against core brand and business objectives.
·  Ensure consistency and accuracy of brand messaging with Diageo corporate messaging.
·  Accurately assess business environment and identify messages that will create positive reputation for the company and brands.
·  Establish industry-leading influencer and entertainment partnerships and collaborations.
·  Develop robust creative briefs, in conjunction with the brands, to inspire and unlock ideas from agencies and partners.
·  Ability to motivate and inspire agencies and partners, properly communicating deliverables and timing, as well as managing multiple stakeholders.
·  Effectively manage negotiations and relationships with partner agencies utilized by company to ensure cost effective value and delivery against goals and objectives.
·  Manage process of strategy from concept to implementation, engaging important cross-functional stakeholders in the financial, legal, sales and risk management communities.
·  LOlMaintain and build relationships with editors, influencers, tastemakers and their partners through constant communication, social meetings, appointments, etc.

Experience:

·  7+ years media relations, integrated communications, influencer, entertainment marketing, strategic partnerships, sponsorship/event activation experience, with 2+ years in Total Beverage Alcohol preferred.
·  Extensive brand and client side experience. (Agency experience a plus)
·  Vast experience in digital media and social communications platforms.
·  Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, Marketing, Communication or Journalism.
·  Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
·  Great creativity, budget and product management.
·  Flexible, self-starter with a collaborative, team first, must-win attitude.
·  Ability to build winning strategies and execute flawlessly.
·  Ability to build great relationships.
·  Strong rolodex with journalists, bloggers and digital media
·  Proficiency in Spanish a plus.
