About the job

The VSU (Vertical Start Up) Leader leads the operation part of projects by planning and directing the production operators, maintenance technicians, quality technician, safety technician, utilities operators and along the leaders of the factory teams.

This role is not limited to current on-going projects but also all projects planned and already approved by the group.

The person in this role will be the key contact of Engineering team and machines manufacturers for the operation requirements of new and upgrade projects Danone Japan will implement.

He/She will manage project along with the Engineering Project Manager (PM) according Sherpa project management methodology and VSU methodology, and is responsible to deliver the VSU KPIs (aligned with factory SQCDM). He/she participates from design phase of the projects with the PM, is the pivot between all the actors (the experts on each area, the users and suppliers) and the handover is gradually happening from Engineering PM to VSU leader specially from OQ (Operation Qualification / commissioning) and PQ (Performance Qualification / production ramp up).

About you

Education background

 Bachelor’s Degree in engineering/ Technical College Graduate or equivalent

 

Technical Skills and Experiences required:

·  Manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs in terms of operation requirements
·  Oversee production construction and testing in order to ensure completion of projects in accordance with factory SQCDM and in a timely manner
·  Evaluate and communicate (and approve as required) changes to meets the factory SQCDM that would impact the scope, budget and schedule of the projects
·  Monitor and report performance against project plan, to management team; specially from OQ and PQ milestones
·  Provide strategic input that affects the functional areas of responsibility (production)
·  Assist in developing the related budgets required for new or existing projects in terms of VSU methodology
·  Manage and prepare the operators trainings, production standards and maintenance procedures, raw and packaging materials for testing in the projects
·  Organize OQ phase of the projects along Engineering PM
·  Lead the PQ phase of the projects with support of PM
·  Resolving and escalating issues arising from operations and co-ordination with other departments
·  Knowledge of safety and quality requirements at production sites

Competencies to be successful on the job:

·  Extensive experiences as production leader with experience in projects start up
·  Engineering expertise and knowledge
·  Preferably prior ‘new’ or ‘upgrade’ of production lines experiences
