Position Summary:
This role will support the Food Safety & Quality Lead in continuing, improving and animating our quality and food safety standards.  This position will be responsible for reviewing and following-up on supplier monitoring programs, performing routine QA checks/audits in our manufacturing site, and helping develop quality and food safety manuals along with required trainings.

 

Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Monitoring

·  Assist Food Safety & Quality Lead by monitoring raw, pack and service suppliers meet local regulators (OSHA & FDA) as well as Nutricia quality compliance standards.
·  Document and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as service level, lead times, and first time right and report trends to Quality & Food Safety Lead.
·  Support action plan developed by Quality & Food Safety Lead.

 

Perform Routine QA Checks & Audits

·  Carry out periodic checks and audits of local manufacturing to support the plant environmental and sanitation monitoring programs.
·  Audit supplier work (pest control, sanitation vendors).
·  Perform GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) on-site audits and follow-up on corrective actions.
·  Follow-up and animate quality and food safety plans based on actions identified from Nutricia audits.
·  Contribute to develop continuous improvement plan including preventative actions

 

Quality Food Safety Manual & Trainings

·  Compile and standardize QA forms and procedures
·  Maintain and retain quality documents per Danone document control and retention policy.
·  Perform periodic review of document versions versus the master quality document reference list
·  Provide support to develop training documents and deliver content when required
·  Other duties as required.

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

·  Able to interpret micro and chemical lab results
·  Able to support improvement program with 3rd parties
·  Ability to read, write, edit and communicate SOPs
·  Influence manufacturing team in manufacturing and food safety continuous improvement programs
·  Strong organizational skills (electronic and paper based)
·  Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

 

Supervisory responsibilities:
Quality & Food Safety Coordinator has no direct reports but will be required to provide training, coaching, and ensure compliance with local regulations and Nutricia food safety standards.

 

Working conditions:
This position is based in an office and manufacturing environment.   The job involves some periods of standing and walking in production and warehouse, and lifting of moderately heavy (not to exceed 30lbs) of items such as equipment kits and product cases.  This position travels domestically 10% and internationally on rare occasion.

 

Minimum qualifications:

·  2+ years in manufacturing quality and food safety experience (preferably in a food/pharmaceutical/nutraceutical manufacturing environment)
·  Bachelor degree in science discipline  (food science preferred)

 

Preferred Qualifications

·  HACCP or GMP related certification
·  Knowledge and experience working with HACCP based food safety quality management systems
