Are you a passionate Process technologist who wants to make a difference in infant formula production, innovate and ensure excellence in process development?

Nutricia Danone Research is searching for a Process Technologist to strengthen the Specialized Nutrition /Process Application Team (PAT). As process technologist, you will deliver practical process solutions & implement them within a wide range of projects involving innovations, transformation, productivity, capacity, compliance, transfer, efficiency & outsourcing projects, within the European supply point network. The main unit operations in our scope are: spray drying, dry blending, heat treatment, fermentation, etc., yet you are expected to have stakeholder management skills as the Process Application Team is a key partner to product developers, factories, global operations, and the quality department, amongst others.

About the Job

As a Processing Technologist, you are expected to engage with the project teams, clarify areas of process expertise contribution (Spray drying, dry blending, etc.) & coordinate internally within Nutricia Research to deliver critical process solutions (pilot trials, protocols, etc.) that will contribute to the excellence in startup. You will support other team members on technical topics, tackle process needs for other business critical projects, as they arise, and co-create a team atmosphere with a continuous drive for growth, excellence and effectiveness. The responsibilities will not only be limited to the transformation project described above; you will also be expected to support projects in innovation, compliance & productivity.Moreover, you will represent the PAT team in cross functional projects, cross functional project collaborative platforms and provide internal updates to the PD3 EU team (product, process & pack development department).

Main Responsibilities:

Working in and managing projects for the European portfolio for Process Technology on Powder products:

·  Identify and develop the best process technology to produce safe products in an economical way for Specialized Nutrition.
·  Ensure absolute safe products, benefits and substantiation in close cooperation with Quality & Food Safety and considering regulatory aspects
·  Support the implementation of new products to various European supply points

Next to that youwill be:

·  Acting as an important link between R&D and operations in implementing and securing our processes and participating in new factory projects.
·  Factory testing, implementation and technical support (best practices and troubleshooting) to factories is substantial part of the work which means frequent travel, especially within Europe might be required, (indication: up to approx. 30-40% of time)
·  Set-up, evaluate and maintain process specifications to enable our factories to run in an excellent way
·  Work together with other colleagues in the center of excellence process department, Operations, Engineering, Quality & Food Safety
·  Work together with colleagues of formulation & various product development teams
·  Work together with local factory Technologists, Project leaders, Change managers and line management.
·  Work together with other Process technology teams in Danone

We are looking for a process technologist with;

·  Proven track record in Process Development/Technology, at M.Sc. level or similar educational background Chemical engineering, Bio-Chemical engineering, Food technology, bioprocessing, or similar working/thinking level obtained via experience.
·  3 - 5 years relevant experience in a factory technology job/ environment or R&D process related environment, preferably the field of powder or dairy processing or spray drying – yet not limited to it; experience in performing optimizations, modifications and/or implementation of technologies is more valuable
·  Affinity with foods, preferably experience in and working in food industry
·  Adequately mastering food- & process technology fundamentals and how to apply these in a practical way
·  Able to lead a diverse portfolio of small and medium size development & factory projects
·  Able to communicate effectively to various functions and levels (operator to director) within R&D, Operations & QFS
·  Team player with an autonomous working attitude
·  Enthusiastic, pro-active, analytical, open-minded, curious and hands-on approach.
·  Able and willing to travel up to 30-40% in Europe
