Job Title:Process Operator

Location: Bridgeton Reports to: Production Lead

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for ensuring theefficient operation, maintenance, cleaning and monitoring of the processing equipment, Aseptic tanks, product lines at the Bridgeton Plant. The successful candidate will be able to manage their time while monitoring temperature and the speed of the equipment and cleaning the room and equipment to ensure a sterile environment. The Process Operator must be able to identify and correct problems and perform hook-ups and repairs with the system and be proactive with notifying the Supervisor on duty. The successful candidate will be reliable, have a consistent work history, be enthusiastic and have the ability to be flexible with scheduling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·  Operate and constantly monitor the processing system, Aseptic tanks and product lines.

·  Maintain the processing area, all processing equipment, in a clean and sanitary manner to include CIP responsibility, exterior cleaning of equipment, and manual cleaning of non-CIP equipment

·  Monitor the temperature and flow of equipment

·  Troubleshoot and maintain process control

·  Keep complete and accurate records of processing results

·  Attend daily shift meetings

·  Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required; one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in Manufacturing/Production environment preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals. Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple instructions. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, and small group situations, to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to hear and perceive information at normal spoke word levels.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Possess the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Must have the ability to apply commonsense and understanding when carrying out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Must have the ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task.

Must have the ability to demonstrate superb decision-making skills to determine the best course of action when performing the responsibilities of the job.

Must demonstrate the ability to identify potential challenges with the process, work through issues as a process owner/first responder, and when to notify the chain of command to escalate prevent process failures.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITITES:

·  Basic computer skills. Familiarity with Wonderware programs preferred
·  Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
·  Knowledge of CIP (clean in progress) procedures
·  Knowledge of safety programs and procedures
·  Available and willing to be contacted by phone in the event of an emergency and be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, late shifts and overtime
·  Ability to use a ladder when working in high precarious places
·  Ability to assess or troubleshoot issues

The position is exposed to machines, chemicals and solvents. Must be able to operate simple and, or complex heavy-duty machinery. Requires working in areas that are not ventilated or air-conditioned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat.

Many high speed motors create a loud noise level. The noise level in the work environment requires mandatory hearing protection
