Job description
JOB SUMMARY : Flex workers will be utilized to cover staffing needs. The company will cross-train Flex workers in all job classifications in the Processing and Packaging Departments but will prioritize training in those job classifications where forcing is most prevalent.
JOB DETAILS:
· Schedule : To the extent possible, scheduled shifts for each week will be filled by full-time employees and flex workers at the time the schedule is posted. Flex workers will not have a designated schedule and their hours may vary from week to week (days or nights).
· Work Hours : Flex workers may be assigned between 21-48 hours per week on the basis of skills and operational need.
· Bidding Rights : Flex workers will have bidding rights after completing their probationary period. Bids will be awarded in the following order of priority:(1) full-time employees; (2) most senior qualified flex worker; (3) most senior flex worker.
· Overtime : Flex workers may volunteer for overtime hours if there are no full-time volunteers. Overtime will be awarded to qualified Flex workers on the basis of seniority. Flex workers are not part of the pool of workers available to be forced if there are insufficient volunteers for overtime opportunities.
· Benefits : Flex workers will be eligible to qualify for health benefits accordance with the terms of the Danone Health Plan and the collective bargaining agreement.
· Flex workers will be granted forty (40) hours of PTO Flex on January 1 st of each year, to be used in accordance with Employer policy.
· Flex workers will accrue two (2) days of PTO Regular on January 1 st of each year and another two (2) days on July 1 st of each year.
· Flex workers will be eligible for Bereavement Leave and Jury Duty Leave on a pro-rata basis, based upon the average hours worked in the prior thirteen (13) weeks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The employee will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the maintenance or operations supervisor. Job duties and required participation in IWS systems may change as required by the needs of the company .
Current examples of Processing and Packaging Department roles which the Flex Worker may perform include: Downline Operator, Downline Leader, Filler Operator, and Blender/Processor. Summaries of these roles are listed below, for greater detail reference the full job description for each role.
Downline Operator : This position is responsible for ensuring the packaging line runs efficiently by monitoring equipment, trouble shooting minor mechanical issues, cleaning, completing the appropriate documentation and stocking the equipment with packaging materials.
Downline Leader : This position is responsible for ensuring the packaging line runs efficiently by monitoring equipment, trouble shooting minor mechanical issues, cleaning, completing the appropriate documentation and stocking the equipment with packaging materials amongst multiple lines when necessary. This position requires forklift certification and experience.
Filler Operator : This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the filler machines and downline equipment used to package beverages. The successful Operator will be competent in monitoring, maintaining, and cleaning the filler equipment and packaging equipment in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Demonstrating their ability to communicate and work as a team with other key personnel within the operation is also a requirement.
Blender/Processor : This position controls and executes the delivery of the daily blend/processing requirements for production through the scheduling, ordering, and manufacturing of raw ingredients from concentrate with adherence other quality specification requirement. This position requires forklift certification and experience.
The base compensation range for this position is XX commensurate with experience. EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required; one to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
Experience in Food Manufacturing/Production environment preferred.
