Happy Family is looking for a part-time Food Technologist or Food Scientist for the Boise, Idaho location. This position will report to the Global Senior Product Development Manager. S/He will assist in the assessment, development, and implementation of baby, toddler and kid products in global markets. By applying food science and technology principles to new product development and product line extensions, s/he will help accelerate the global expansion of the brand.

Job Responsibilities

·  Support and execute product development tasks for the global expansion of Happy Family products
·  Work with new and existing markets to align on the technical requirements for expansion opportunities
·  Design, organize, and document product development tasks including shelf life studies, industrial trials, and sensory testing
·  Support cross-functional team to assess technical risks at earch stage gate from concept to product launch
·  Ensure ingredients and finished goods meet requirements of destination countries for regulatory and organic certifications
·  Verify and analyze the nutritional content of products, ensuring compliance to both internal and external standards
·  Provide technical support for customer service, production and QA teams to identify and solve product related problems
·  Maintain lab space organization and ensure food safety procedures are followed
·  Collaborate and communicate with Happy Family cross-functional Global Team and destination countries to execute new product launches

Must Have Skills

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or Food Technology
·  Experience with food manufacturing processes (thermal processes, extrusion, etc.)
·  Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, basic quality testing and food safety issues
·  Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
·  Flexible and self-disciplined to deliver meaningful results on time in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
·  Flexibility to attend early morning and late evening calls with international markets
·  Positive, can-do, proactive attitude and strong work ethic
·  PC skills: Microsoft Office, Genesis ESHA
