Job description
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for ensuring the packaging line runs efficiently by monitoring equipment, trouble shooting minor mechanical issues, cleaning, completing the appropriate documentation and stocking the equipment with packaging materials amongst multiple lines when necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Monitor case packing equipment; Dimac, Palletizer, Stretch Wrapper, Adco, Conveyor systems, Code dating Equipment, Cardboard Baler, Print n Apply, and SAP to ensure it is functioning correctly
· Weekend support of Receiving activities will be required
· Ability to support Damaway infrastructure
· Ability to cross-train in multiple areas of the operation
· Stock equipment with cardboard wraps and 2pk & 3 pack sleeves
· Troubleshoot and correct minor issues with the case packing equipment, including size changeovers / 2pk-6pk, palletizer, stretch wrapper, printer and other packaging equipment.
· Document and report Operator Quality Inspections and take line samples per guidelines
· CIP and ensure the work area is always clean and organized
· Provide break relief to operations personnel, which may include Filler Operators and line take-away drivers as needed, downline team.
· Record downtime data using Informance downtime tracking system
· Participate in root cause analysis and engage in corrective actions as directed by Supervisors/Lead.
· Provide expert user advice and/or data as required to process observers, improvement teams and /or management for continuous improvement and process excellence initiatives
· Perform new operator training when qualified to do so
· Forklift Qualified, perform duties as assigned
· Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE:
A High School Diploma or GED is required. Manufacturing experience and/or packaging experience is preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITITES:
· Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
· Knowledge of safety programs and procedures
· Experience operating packaging equipment
· Forklift certified
· Available and willing to be contacted by phone in the event of an emergency and be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, late shifts, holidays and overtime
