Danone North America is looking for a Brand Designer in White Plains.

You are a Creative Maverick, a Design-Isn’t-Just-Pretty-Pictures. At Danone North America’s Brand Design, we are looking for exceptional design talent to create the future of amazing brands that are both good for you and good for the planet. We need collaborative, insightful & skilled creatives to create equal parts strategic and beautiful design solutions. You will be part of a creative team including Brand Design Leads and other designers, will work closely with a team of cross-functional rock stars across disciplines such as Strategy, Consumer Engagement, Content Creation and beyond. Across the business, you will think hard, design harder and present fearlessly alongside Brand Design Leads, while watching for ebbs and flows within timelines guided by Project Managers. You are a seasoned creative mastermind, and find your happy place working from concept through to completion.

Are you curious? Well, keep reading. Success in this position looks like…

·  You work either independently or in conjunction with your Brand Design Lead and fellow designers, taking the work from brief evaluation and interrogation, developing and evaluating design territories, pushing to find ‘big ideas’ based on design strategy and the brief.
·  You’re eager to learn, despite having solid experience in this industry. You understand this is an ever-changing world and you want togrow, and contribute in a creative, collaborative environment.
·  You are an articulate visual and verbal communicator –you articulate and present creative ideas and bring your creative work to life internally, during critiques, or externally to our brand and marketing partners, in partnership with a Brand Design Lead.
·  You are more than just a great creative. You’re empathic and open-minded. You understand the power of brand strategy and know how to transform a strategic positioning into a piece of creative work that has a positive impact.
·  You take design direction and work with input from our Head of Design & Creative Director, working side-by-side with Brand Design Leads to demonstrate the legs of any idea and show how it can exist in the world
·  You’re highly capable of working in a fast-paced setting under tight deadlines with strong project and time management skills
·  You are curious, you ask a million questions before pushing pixels, you interrogate feedback to get to the why’s behind the why’s, and you are self-sufficient when figuring problems out on your own. You push the brief and want to create things that people have never seen before.
·  You can contribute and/or direct photo shoots and other asset generating productions, contributing to pre-pros, evaluating the possibilities of each asset we create
·  You have a passion for creative and design excellence, keeping a healthy balance between current creative, design trend knowledge and creative intuition, always grounding the work in sound strategic design rationale.
·  You keep pace with new trends in food, well-being, tech and innovation, but you also draw inspiration for the world around you to bring a unique twist to the solutions you imagine.
·  You’re confident in saying when you see something wrong: it pains you to see sloppily done work. You don’t tolerate mediocracy.
·  Basically... You are hungry and embarrassed by anything with your name on it that is not ah-mazing.

Now, the specific responsibilities in this gig:

·  Developed a wide range of original design concepts for brand guidelines, packaging, print, demonstrating idea potential ramifications through brushstrokes on what could be campaigns, digital, social, video and other touchpoints
·  Develop detail-oriented, inspiring and strategically grounded packaging design ideas, with the understanding that packaging doesn’t live on its own in the world
·  Participate in creative ideation, strategy, and brainstorming when needed
·  Come up with big and small ideas that make the difference between good and great work
·  Handle creative revisions to existing creative as needed
·  Present and explain concepts, answer questions, communicate changes to the team
·  You will work on from branding, packaging design, idea concept and everything in between.
·  Establish an intimate knowledge of our brands, their competitive landscape, products and target markets to create impactful & consistent visual identities
·  Handle multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively on fast-paced projects with other creatives, production + implementation teams, retouchers, and various other partners to reach project goals.
·  Work independently as well as with junior designers to develop design concepts from ideation to implementation.
·  Prepare guidelines & principles for brand roll-outs, activation tool-kits for brand activation, demonstrating design principles into concepts that inform physical and digital applications of the idea you (and/or the team) created.
·  Able to defend strengths of existing concepts while remaining open to input and further explorations.
·  Incorporate and/or explore suggestions and feedback from our brand/marketing partners, resolve questions and concerns, and oversee objections.

Skills and Experience you bring to the table:

·  Completed design studies – but, are you a self-taught strategic genius with tons of amazing experience and an impeccable portfolio? We’ll talk with you.
·  Impeccable design sense, craft & a razor-sharp attention to detail
·  A stellar portfolio demonstrating solid and strategic design experience, including a strong understanding of color theory, typography, composition and building
·  Proven experience in Packaging Design/FMCG related field or Brand Experience
·  360º approach and ability to create concepts for a wide range of brand touchpoints, whether physical, digital or everything in between
·  Strong organizational and teamwork skills, be self-motivated, confident, energetic, and creative (the last one is kind of an understatement, but we felt it was important enough to mention)
·  Proven experience in taking projects from concept, design territories through production;
·  The ability to conceptualize, design and transform ideas into workable and relevant solutions
·  Mastery of Adobe software such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop & After Effects
