The Away From Home Key Account Manager manages current and prospective Key Accounts in a metro, to meet and exceed business plan and performance objectives. It is an integral part of the sales organization and demonstrates strong sales, relationship and prioritizing skills and experience with local and/or nationally based customers. The AFH Key Account Manager drives collaboration with local stakeholders, distribution, and activation resources to execute program and segment priorities, goals and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. For new potential accounts
· Scout on a regular basis, new account to open and understand their positioning, performance, customers
· Map out the different sub channels (Hospitality, food service, fitness clubs, coffees, theaters…) within the specific city area
· Understand city stakeholder mapping and build relationships with strong influencers
· Map, prioritize and engage with strategic accounts Danone Waters of America (DWA) should be in with its brands in the city area
· Create ad hoc profitable programs and commercial offers for targeted accounts and lead the contractual negotiations with decision makers
· Propose and secure adapted delivery solutions with our distributors
2. For existing accounts
· Build long term working relationships with primary decision makers at key accounts
· Monitor account performance (depletions, shipments, pricing, promotional materials, profitability) and establish regular business reviews with all key strategic accounts
· Partner with Brand Development team to create and deliver sub-channel specific programs that are consistent with DWA overall brand image and awareness as appropriate
· Ensure and secure distribution solutions with our distributors, and manage potential breakdowns building long term relationships with distributors
· Proactively analyze potential problems or risks to avoid emergency solutions
· Communicate in a timely fashion with all accounts
· Discuss programs sold, opportunities and business environment of account base with upper management and peers
· Manage and maintain contractual agreements with assigned customers by engaging appropriate stakeholders and following the prescribed process ensuring contract compliance
3. Transversal missions
· Support sales and inventory forecasting efforts with manager
· Prepare and present regular reviews for DWA manager and upper management highlighting execution against plan, year to date results and current opportunities and plans
· Ensure that DWA participates in relevant channel specific activities, shows and conventions to present our position in the premium water category
· Implement and manage wait staff training in assigned geography when necessary
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
· Strong understanding of city landscape and surrounding market
· Demonstrated ability to forecast sales, expenses, revenue
· Understanding of business planning and marketing plan knowledge
· Ability to cultivate growth using analytical skills while viewing financial data to evaluate the profitability of new opportunities
· Can do attitude, highly motivated and innovative mind set
· Ability to multi task and overcome obstacles
Minimum qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree required
· Mandatory sales experience
· 2 years minimum of experience in the Away From Home Industry
· Experience managing multiple wholesalers or distributors
· Experience managing key accounts
